Jagya and Anandi are still at Phooli's house. Phooli's parents praise Anandi for being so smart. Jagya reminds them that it was he who got Anandi to study. Phooli and Anandi fix their dolls' wedding. Anandi and Jagya get ready to leave. Phooli's father gives Anandi inam for topping the class.
Suguna is in the kitchen day-dreaming about Pratap. Anandi calls her. All children come to Bhairav and Sumitra's room. Jagya tells his parents that they had gone to call Anandi's parents to tell them the results. Jagya proudly tells his parents that he told Anandi's parents not to worry and that he would take care of everything. Bhairav and Sumitra keep smiling at this. Bhairav asks Anandi what she wants. Anandi says she doesn't need anything. Everyone keeps forcing her to ask for something. Anandi hesitantly tells Bhairav that she wants to study further. Bhairav doesn't know what to say. He finally tells Anandi that this may take some time as he had to convince daadisa. Anandi tearfully tells him to convince Daadisa for her sake. Bhairav is upset.
At the dinner table, everyone is discussing the arrangements for Suguna's gauna. Bhairav nervously tells Maasa about Anandi's wish to study further. Even Jagya asks Maasa to say yes. Maasa says that if her laadesar wishes this, then so be it. She then calls Anandi to her and happily gives her Rs.500 as inam. She then looks at Jagya and gives Anandi another 500. Everyone is super happy that Daadisa agreed. Daadisa turns to leave, when Jagya comes running to her and reminds her to give him his inam. Daadisa gives him 500 bucks and leaves. Jagya is upset and glances at Anandi, who is happily looking at the 1000 rupees she got.
Jagya goes to Daadisa and asks her why she gave him less inam than Anandi. Daadisa tells him that she rewarded based on the rank. Since he did not do as well as Anandi, he was given less money. Daadisa then poisons Jagya's mind that since Anandi was much smarter than him, this would happen every year. And all that adulation would make her disrespectful. She also tells Jagya to get used to being second to Anandi since he is the one who wants his bheendni to study. Jagya is very upset. Daadisa then gives him 500 bucks and tells him that she can never see him upset and that he was the most important to her. Jagya goes to his room and thinks about all the things Daadisa said. He remembers everybody praising Anandi and how his friends teased him that Anandi would study and go to work, while Jagya has to do house chores...
