Masi sat on the floor, peeling some papri(a kind of bean). In the corner, Bina was already putting rice and dal to cook in the pressure cooker. "Aree bahu aav ahinyaa."(come here daughter in law) Masi shouted at the top of the voice, even though Bina was like five foot away.
Bina pulled the pallu of her cotton sari further down her head and rushed up to masi. "shun che masi?"(what masi?)
"Aree pela tara vaarne uthvanu maan thai ke nahin? Mounva akho dharo sooyi rehwano?"(does you husband want to get or not? Is he planning to sleep all day?) masi complained.
"Jaa uthadi aave aine. Akha ghar nu kaam baki rahi jaye."(go wake him up, the whole day's work is on standstill because of him.) masi told Bani sharply.
"haan masi, javooni choo."(I am going) Bina replied in a soft voice. She hurried upstairs, her payals tinkling as she ran to the bedroom. She approached the bed, where her husband , Jayesh was lying sprawled over the bed. Most of the bedsheet trailing on the floor. Bina walked up to him and shook him, "Utho'sambhro cho'utho." (wake'can you hear me'wake up)
Suddenly Jayesh's arm shot out, "Kyan bhagi gayi thi mari mayna? Savaar pare ni kaun jane kyan nashi jai'.Aav ahiyana'jarak mara dil ne dori toh kenchi jaa."(where did you disappear to my mayna(type of bird) Early morning where do you run off to'come here and pull at my heartstrings a little.)
Bina giggles and tries to pull her hand out of his grip, "Aree choro naa'savaar ma kayni dhando nathi tamne'masi ramari raah jove che."(let go of me'don't you have anything better to do. Masi is waiting for you.)
Jayesh pulls her down on the bed and rolls her under him, nuzzling her neck, "masi nu naam da savaar por ma'dosi ne kai beeju ne avare."(don't talk about masi, she doesn't have anything else to do in the morning)
Before long Bina's cotton sari puddles on the floor along with her husband's vest and pyjama.

Bina was combing her hair again, when there is banging on the door, "aree vahu'Jayalo uthiyo ke nahi?" she shouted.
Bina panicked. She quickly tied her hair and opened the door, looking at the floor, "masi nahva gaya che."(masi he has gone to have a shower)
"Chal tu shun kare che kamra ma'nasto banavi kar."(what are you doing in the room'come and make breakfast.)
Bina nodded her head dutifully, "Jee masi avoonoo chun." (I am coming)
Bina quickly put a pant and shirt for her husband to wear and ran off to the kitchen. In half an hour, she set out the dhokla in plates and steaming cups of tea on the table. Jayesh came down and smiled at masi, "Jai shree Krishna masi."
Masi pulled her face, "moonva'bapoor thai gayun'jeyaarthi bayri gharma avi'thair thi tari to ramleela."(even since your wife came into the house, all you do is laze about.)
Jayesh grinned slyly at his wife. "Masi thodook toh aram karvo pare ne'kaitlo thaki javoon chun. Tamne shun khabaar." (masi I have to rest, don't you know I have to rest, but what do you understand.)
They sat down to have breakfast. Under the table, Jayesh ran his hand lightly up and down Bina's thigh, making her face blush. He winked at her as he put a piece of dhokla in his mouth. "Bina'dhokla banvu tasty baniya che."(Bin this dhokla are very tasty)
Masi helping herself to some more, "Haan avee bairi na haath na saraj lage ne."(of course nowadays, whatever made by your wife's hand is always tasty.)
Jayesh blew Bina a kiss when masi's head was bent over the plate, making Bina splutter her tea.
