Yeah, I also think that Neela is alive. Athaan pola they showed the much older looking Neela in the early flashback scenes..

the story is getting interesting.
what happened to the lawyer's son?
and maybe neela is really dead, and ranjini is gonna torture chandra by dressing up like her.

Of course Neela is alive - the director wouldn't have wasted his time in introducing this double role sequence as a mother/daughter team and then kill one of them mid-way without are a reunion. Besides It would be a big let down for the viewers too.

Chandramathi and gang would have to be taught a good lesson and  pay for their crimes. Ranjini has to take revenge and look up for her mum.  I wish Raj is also safe somewhere and Ranjini is able to reunite her parents with her coming into their picture too.

Is Ranjini going to impersonate her mum Neela to teach a confused and desperate Chandramathi???
