What??!!! Ummm, there is a WORLD of a difference yaar.....Gunjan is NOT at all like Simran in ANY way! As for Sam.....umm, I don't quite think he matches up to the charm of Raj.....I guess the basic 'playboy/flirt' characteristics are the same but otherwise they are not alike at all.....just my opinion.

^I totally agree... There's a world of difference between Gunjan & Simran, Simran is extremely headstrong - a quality which Gunjan lacks atm, not to mention that I don't think Gunjan has a dad who is averse to everything Samrat.... And ditto Samrat & Raj, Raj wasn't the most popular guy in school (he was a failure) and he would never be those who would go around following Dia types, neither was he showcased to be perfectly suave and always right (unvulnerable). Also Raj had a very boyish sweetness to his character, which I think Samrat lacks (though he makes it up with his super-charm)

I guess the biggest difference is in the storylines... DDLJ was about two people, both equally strong characters, one a typical girl with dreams of her rajkumar, and one a typical guy, very playful and how the guy goes and tries to convince the dad to let him go back to Simran, instead of the easier but ultimately damaging short-cut of eloping.. The novelty was in that... In MJHT the novelty is mainly Samrat, the most popular dude, falling for Gunjan, the shyest gal in college, the last person anyone expected him to actually fall in love with...

Technically there isn't really even any novelty in the 'jock falls for the bookworm' storyline also😆....but yeah, compared to DDLJ, it's a totally different case....these are two completely different stories, completely different characters.....it's like comparing chalk and cheese yaar😕😆

Raj wasn't really a 'failure'....I thought his characterization was much more realistic than Samrat's in this show....I hardly think there is an 'invulnerable' character like Sam in real life....but I think we've all seen a million Raj's in real life (minus the I'll do anything for the girl I love bits...those are rare😆)....the ones who don't much care for studies cuz they're rich, smooth talkers, living it up in life, not really serious about most things on the surface.....these were the superficial layers to Raj...which is why a girl like Simran would dismiss him as frivolous on first glance....it was only when one gets to know him better that we see the other layers to his personality as he matures as a character as well.....but even in his most smug moments, Raj was never as strangely cocky as Sam is.....and much more suave, if I may say so😉.....

Yeah true coz its been done to death 😆... Seriously which story shows the hero falling in love with the popular gal instead of the extremely shy, scared of socializing bookworm types??? 😆 Thats another point of difference, Simran is not anti-social, she enjoys talking to her friends and also she is pretty normal compared to Gunnu in that she doesn't get her happiness from doing homework!!!

PS. I've copied yours and Nimmi's siggy format - you know two avis on top of a sig - Hope you don't mind!!! 😃

Err....I don't think anyone ever has a copyright on how they format their sig boxes, Sonia😕😆....So knock yourself out whatever way you want to organize ur sig box😆😆
And yes, Simran wasn't anti-social...she was a bookworm only to the point of enjoying reading....not getting a high from doing her homework or OTHER ppl's homework like Gunjan😆😆
