The Ghazal round of Nov 1st was a huge success and most of them sang very well. Hope we have a further repeat of more Ghazal Rounds.⭐️

It was qwalli round and not ghazal round. They should have a ghazal as well and I am sure they will sooner or later.
Thanks Mike. Kwalli is good and Ghazals are very enjoyable too. But younger generation may not like Ghazals so much.

Yeah the young generation like to jump up and down and sideways, in ghazal you have to think and enjoy each word and how the singer express each word of the poetry. You know last year when they show an AV lot of ppl like Qawwali and ghazal round. If the singer explain briefly the heavy words of urdu then I think ppl will like them. Seems like young generation does not understand heavy urdu. I myself have the same problem cuz I learned hindi initially upto gr 6 and learned urdu later on in my life. I increased urdu knowledge by my own self to some extent.
Listen to Jagjit Singh for compartively easy to understand poetry. Then graduate to Ghulam Ali and Mehdi Hassan.
Here is one Urdu-English dictionary online:
You are welcome,Summer.Mehdi Hassan is Shanshah of Ghazals,no doubt.Ranjish hi shai, shola tha jal buzaa hun and many other ghazls rendered by him leave a permanent mark in our memory.Same about Hungma,Chupke Chupke by Ghulam Ali. Our own Jagjitji has made Ghazals so popular in India.
how about Pankaj Udas ghazals, i love his
