Uma goes in to shower. Sangeetha tells Ranjini to go immediately and she does. Ranjini meets with her lawyer, Muthu and tells him the incident. Muthu scolds her for letting such a good opportunity go to waste. He tells her if they have no evidence of Arun's illegal activities no one and even God will not be able to help her. He tells her that the case will be lost. He tells Ranjini to be more aggresive in finding the evidence they need. Ranjini tries to tell him that she is trying her best but nothing seems to work. Lawyer tells her if she does not try harder then nothing can be done as he cannot do anything and Ranjini tells him if that is her fate, so be it. Lawyer says he did not come there to be defeated. He tells Ranjini to go and try harder. Ranjini and Karthik leave. Manoj asks his uncle why he was harsh with Ranjini. Uncle tells nephew if he is not harsh Ranjini will not try harder. Manoj wants his uncle to leave as soon as the case is over but his uncle says he will leave when he wants to. Manoj leaves the room angry and uncle just laughs.

Supni goes to meet Chandra with some guys to Chandra's house and wants to meet her but is stopped. Supni tells the man to inform madam j that he has come and tries to leave. Thangaraj comes ther eand stops Supni from leaving and asks him to come in. Chandra comes down and asks Supni how he is and Supni asks if she can't see for herself. Chandramathi sits with arrogance and Supni talks to himself that he knows she is insulting him. She asks if she can offer any drinks but Supni refuses. Chandra asks what he wants but Supni says why ask him as she is the one who wants to see him. Chandra looks at Thangaraj and Supni says he knows that she had asked Thangaraj to tell him to see her. Chandra says surely Supni knows everything. Thangaraj says that a lease agreement on some land is coming to and end and whe wants the land for herself. Supni tells her that both he and Chandra has no rights on the land. He will handover the land when Neelambari tells him to. Chandra tells him that she has Neelambari's power of attoney but Supni is not willing to believe. Neelambari says that she will show the power of attorney where and when needed and she wants the land at the end of the lease agreement. Supni says he will not believe and will not hand over the land to her as he also has note with clear instructions from Neelambari. Chandra is shocked.

Chandra asks when Neelambari gave him the agreement. Supni says he can also ask when Chandra got the power of agreement. Supni tells her that his agreement was given after the power of attorney to Chandra. He says that he has been given the rights to continue with the lease if he wishes. Chandra says Neelambari will not give such an agreement. Chandra wants to see the agreement but Supni says he can also ask her to see hers. He also tells Chandra he will give the agreement to the court if Chandra goes to court. Chandra says her court is where she is and her verdict and decision is final. Supni is not afraid and tells her that her court is for illegal matters but his is legitimate. Chandra questions if Supni is trying to cheat her and he asks her the same and says this is the begining and not the end. He tells her to do what she can as both are arguing who is right. Supni says the only ways is for Neelambari to come and tell the truth. He tells Chandra that Neelambari is very powerful and will shake Chandra. He says that Neelambari's words are his command and will do what she says. Chandramathi is shocked and speechless. THODARUM.

Court Case begins. Prosecutor presents his case and calls Uma to testify. He asks her who Arun is and if she knows him well. Uma says Arun is her fiance and a good and loing person. She is then asked how she is related to Ranjini. Uma tells the court that Ranjini is her mother's close friend and is treated as a daughter and she herself thinks of Ranjini as her sister. he then asks Uma what happened. Uma tells the court that her mother was against her marriage to Arun and had told Ranjini about it and to cur a long story short, says Ranjini misused her power as Custom's officer and shot Arun. Prosecutor tells the cour to take note of this. He then asks Ranjini how long she was working as a customs officer and Ranjini replies years. She also tells him that they as officers are given the authority to shoot if necessary. She tells the court that she aimed to shoot Arun's legs but Arun tripped and fell and the bullet hit his back and unfortunately died on the spot. The prosecutor says it is a story concocted by Ranjini.

In cross examinining, Ranjini's lawyer asks Uma where Arun works. Uma keeps quiet for a minute and after prompting, she says he worked for an software company and then opened his own business but doesn't know what kind of business. When asked about his parents, Uma doesn't know. Defence lawyer asks Uma when she told Ranjini about Arun and Uma says about 2 months and reconfirms it. he asks the judge to note this and sits down. Prosecutor says he does not understand the defence lawyer but is told he will make it clear soonenough.

Next, Sathia, Ranjini's co-worker is called to testify. Prosecutor about Ranjini. Sathia says, Ranjini is very emotional. He also tells the court that he suspects that Ranjini has allowed an accused to escape because she had been bribed. Ranjini is shocked to hear this. He is then asked if anyone saw or know about Arun. Sathia says no one knew Arun except for Ranjini.; He tells them that after a case in Hydrabad, Ranjini had shown Arun's photo to their boss and identified him as a drug dealer. Ranjini's lawyer cross examines and asks when Ranjini had told and showed Arun's face to their superior. Sathia replies 3 months ago and reconfirms it. Defence lawyer bring to the court attention that Ranjini had identified Arun as a drug dealer and Uma had only told Ranjini about Arun 2 months ago. But circumstances had prevented Ranjini from meeting Arun as Uma's fiance. He elaborates that Ranjini had no prior anomosity with Uma's fiance. Karthik comes into the courthouse and tells Ranjini that Vinod has not been found. Ranjini is disappointed.

Manoj and another co=worker is questioned and they testify. No cros-examination by the defence. In the meantime., Devan's henchman arrie in a car at the court house and inform their boss they had arrived on the spot. Sangeetha's son gets out of the trunk but is caught by the henchman. He fights them and runs off into the courthouse. The case is still going on.

Prosecurion asks for maximum sentence which is life for killing Arun. Prosecution says defence has no proof that Arun is a drug dealer and een after giving them time to find evidence, they have not produced any. Sangeetha's son is shown running up to the courtroom. Judge asks if defence has any other evidence to show that Arun is a drug dealer. Ranjini's lawyer says they don't have any. THODARUM.
