"He'd throw a lot of tantrums," says an insider who was a witness to Anuj's high-handed attitude. Though Saxena was bought back to the show, it was quite evident that he was neither enthusiastic about playing Abhay Kapoor nor was he comfortable in the entire set up. This allegation was proved right when Anuj didn't show up for Ekta Kapoor's Kkusum bash. His absence raised a lot of questions. We asked him the reason for not being there for the party and he said, "I just didn't feel like going for it. I was occupied with Kumkum and my other business meetings."
Rumours about them having problems have been doing rounds for a while now. In fact Anuj's statements in a glossy took them further. What does he feel about his alleged problems with Ekta? "I guess things aren't so bad between us!"
Ekta, on the other hand came up with another reason and said, "I don't know what to say. I never handled Kkusum and it was Nivedita Basu's territory. But, I'm aware of the stress that was happening on the sets. Anuj asked us for a raise twice. The amount he quoted was not justified. We have certain budgets and can't go beyond that." As a consequence, Anuj repeatedly kept disappearing from the show. Last month when Balaji boycotted the party thrown by Sony, Anuj was the only actor from the camp who attended the do. It's loud and clear that idea was to defy his producer's decision.

Anuj Saxena chose not to attend the show's winding up party
| Ekta's Kkusum party sans Abhay | |
| Anuj Saxena was conspicuous by his absence from the Kkusum winding up party while all his leading ladies, Nausheen Alii Sardar, Manasi Joshi Roy and Shilpa Saklani were present. Ekta Kapoor threw a late night gig at her bunglow in Juhu in suburban Mumbai, which had the who's who of the television industry coming in hordes. "I did not feel like going for the party. I am quite busy with shooting for Kumkum and my pharma business takes up a lot of my time. Moreover, my commitments to Maverick, my production house also keeps me occupied," says Anuj Saxena , the only lead in the show who was brought back by public demand, thereby eventually earning the title of the most married man on television. When we contacted Ekta Kapoor about the bash, she said that she didn't want to talk about it. Meanwhile, Ekta's do was attended by almost everyone in the industry, including the usually reticient Tarun Katial. What was surprising is the fact that although Anuj was not present, his brief replacement, Rohit Roy was present with wife, Manasi. All the ex-Kkusum's were in attendance, together -- Manasi Joshi Roy (she had teamed a pink flared skirt with a long black top. She also sported a rose in her hair); Nausheen looked radiant in black trousers and a brown top, while Shilpa too looked rather cute. Rucha Gujrathi came skimpily clad in a green dress and mingled around with the Kkusum gang. Ronit Roy was seen sitting in one corner and enjoying his drink. We spotted Jaya Bhattacharya chatting nineteen to the dozen with Vivek Mushraan.Others in attendance were, Amit Sareen and Hiten Tejwani, Narayani Shastri (who had come staright from a premeire, wearing an orange and yellow zari sari). Kahin To Hoga team walked in together post one at night. This party was a great way to bid adieu to Kkusum and with the show completing 1000 episodes on 30 November, it was indeed special...and here's hoping that since this aam ladki ki kahaani is over, Ekta has a khaas ladki ki kahaani up her sleeve! |
