Variety has an interview with Rob, where he talks about how it feels to be recognized by Twilight fans.

Robert Pattinson finds himself a recognizable star even before the movie version of Stephenie Meyer's opens Nov. 21. Ever since news broke of his being cast as Edward Cullen, the romantic 17-year-old vampire hero of the tween-popular book series, the 22-year-old actor is known wherever he goes in Britain.
"It's one of these phenomena that come out of nowhere, and everything about your career is completely different," he says. "Every 13-year-old girl in the entire country has read this, and you can almost guarantee wherever you go you'll hear, 'Oh my god! It's Edward Cullen.' "
Pattinson isn't worried that "Twilight" will define his career. "I'm sort of signed on for another two, but it's all dependent on what happens at the box office," he says. And unlike what happened to Bela Lugosi, Pattinson knows he won't be playing Edward Cullen when he's middle-aged.
"The thing is he doesn't age, which means I can't really play 17 forever."

I was going through a report about Robert's Mexico trip and found something very sweet, so thought of sharing with you all..😳 This is what the fans had to say:
"Now, I know a lot of you are wondering, Why on earth did people take the book and not a poster of the movie or of Robert? Simple, we were told that we would not be able to get in unless we had the first Twilight book, which would be the only thing Robert would sign. No pictures, no posters. I guess they were trying to separate the real fans from the random people who didn't even know what was up and got inside just to see."
" Robert only signed autographs for the first 160 fans that arrived at the mall. I was number 15! My friends and I didn't sleep at all that day. We woke at at 1:00 AM and got to the mall at 3:00 AM to wait in line. Robert arrived at 5:00 PM, that means we waited 13 hours to see him. But it was worth it because I got his autograph! Seriously, he is a very nice guy. So handsome and sweet. When it was my turn to get my book signed I couldn't say a word, I just stared at him and in that moment he smiled at me and I burst into tears! It's the most beautiful smile I've ever seen in my life! It was the best day ever, I love Robert! "
