Hey guys!
I used to be an ardent, obsessed, freakishly passionate fan of Prithviraj Chauhan back when Rajat and Mughda were the lead actors. It was the ONLY TV show I watched (and took a lot of my time as during the week, I would spend time watching the weekend's episodes for the umpteenth time online, making videomixes, discussing the show etc). Since Rajat and MC's departure, I found it really hard to commit to a show again because I couldn't connect with the characters of any other show in the way I did with the teenage Prithvi and Sanyogita. I tried DMG, but even that show failed to hold my interest for too long.
However, thanks to MJHT, I have finally started following a show sincerely again. True, I'm not as obsessed as I was with PRC (and I LITERALLY mean obsessed), but I am positive that I am going to be a long term viewer. I think the main reason behind this is MayUr. I adore them. I used to wonder why I like them so much and the answer finally struck me today: its because they remind me of Prithvi and Sanyo!
In PRC, when Prithvi and Sanyo were teenagers, they were exactly like Mayur. Sanyogita was the bubbly, carefree princess who loved living every minute of her life. She took nothing seriously, be it life or death. She also loved playing pranks and was full of masti. She had a very idealistic view towards love.. believing that one day her prince would come and take her away..
Prithvi on the other hand was the charming, handsome, diligent, hard-working Rajput prince who had since his childhood, been exposed to the hardships and responsibilities of a ruler. He was an introvert and was very serious about his work, knowing that he would have to lead his kingdom one day. He was fiercely intelligent and despite being extremely good-looking, was oblivious to the effect he had on girls because he was always so wrapped up by his work and missions. He did not believe in love and regarded the idea of "love at first sight" as baseless.
When Prithvi and Sanyogita came together, they were like two pieces of a jigsaw puzzle. They completed each other's needs. Sanyogita was the much needed breath of fresh air in Prithvi's life, giving him a break from his work and familiarizing him with the small joys of life. Prithvi on the other hand, was the one who allowed Sanyogita to develop from a bubbly girl into a matured woman who learned to love and live seriously.
I think MJHT presents us with our very own 21st century version of Prithvi and Sanyogita.. Nupur the bubbly princess and Mayank the charming prince. I had always wondered how Prithvi and Sanyogita would be if the show had not been based in the 12th century.. little did I know that MJHT would give me the answer 😊
