Exactly, they just released afterwards. SHe signed for both those movies before the JWM hit occured.

I know what you all are saying, but like Ankita, I am looking forward for 3 Idiots. Then again I am fickle so I like the Kareena of JWM, Omkara, Chameli, Chup Chup Ke, and Dev. In other parts I do feel like she hams, and I don't even think the onus is on her for that all the time. How can you not overact in the part that she had in 36 Chinatown for example? Then again I know I am in the minority of those, who was not a big Poo fan either from KKKG.

In the beginning, kareena didnt have the right directors. She got stuck with the same kinda roles, and yes, she did use ot overact a lot. But she's improved a lot by working with directors such as Vishal Bharadwaj, Govind Nihilani, Mani Ratnam, and Imtiaz Ali.
