May not be detrimental to the country but can be detrimental to those who work with them especially when they misbehave with those in lower positions on set and crew and have them fired form their jobs due to their ego. For fans and neutral outsiders this may not mean anything but for those working in the industry, those kind of celebs are the ones everyone wants to avoid like a plague.

All I know is that there are always two sides to a story. Unless you yourself are a witness to something, (even then there is a chance that your judgment could be wrong), I don’t think one should believe or even care about an actor’s offscreen persona . This over indulgence of the audience is also the reason why actors are being forced to act off the screen also and go out of their way to create positive perceptions through PR and what not. We are in it for entertainment and other than that we have a life to live so why waste it in speculating about another person’s life? Whether we perceive them positively or negatively depending upon these stories, we would still be doing them and ourselves a disservice.Just my 2 cents.
