While some, like, Deepika Padukone are instantly catapulted to the top league, others like Rani Mukerji, slowly but steadily, work their way to the numero uno slot.
Their paths to glory may differ but the desire to succeed is mutual. Glamorous by nature and go-getter in attitude, most newcomers want to be the next Madhuri Dixit. But only a few succeed.
Who will be the next toast of Bollywood? Only time has the faintest clue. Meanwhile, here's a look at some of the most hot faces to watch out for:
