The Indians are terribly shook by the series of blasts that took place in recent days. The news of blasting of a bomb or detecting a live bomb has become too common these days. The government is constantly failing in all its efforts to fail the terrorist activities taking place in the country. The result is not unknown. Hundreds of innocent lives are lost.

The terrorists who were arrested in recent days are not under literates. One of them is an employee of an MNC with a heavy salary of Rs. 19Lakhs per annum. Many doctors and engineers are involved. This is really disgusting. Terrorists who were recently encountered at 'L-18' Delhi, were found out to be the students pursuing MBA or masters on Arts.

Why are the "educated" youths of the nation involved in such activties ?
Not only terrorism, the local newspapers as well as the national media reveals many incidents of dowry, domestic violence as well as assasination of girl child among highly educatedand affluent families.

Is education really helpful to curb social vices?

Why is this the condition of the literate class of India ?

I am really shocked. I have no words to describe my agitation. Education has failed to show the right direction to the youth who are the real "asset" of our nation.

We say that education will help us to eradicate the social stigmas. On the other hand, the "educated" engineers and doctors are misusing their skills are taking the lives of innocents.
What is missing in our system ? How can we change it? I am sure there a way out. We need to do something. Or else the world will be doomed in the fire of terrorism, discrimation, corruption and "religous blindness".

According to Woodie Flowers, Education can, but training can't. We train in schools. I agree with him.

i feel we are misguided sometimes..
one can easily distract and misguide the 'agressive' young people by teaching them sub-leveled principles and ideas..

maybe we should make reservations for them an put them in IITS and IIM's and then give them jobs in our nuclear facilities on reservation quota's perhaps that education and financial security can help them in understanding the better living.

what's the worst that can happen anyway😉

Education is not at fault here, it is an education system that fails to educate. A high position or high salary does not an education make. Sometimes even a person who never set foot in a school is more worldly wise than educated fools.

Gopal Hari Deshmukh had said 'Education must improve the life and thought of people, what earns bread is labor' Unfortunately, all we gain by high eductaion nowadays is a degree stamp to make money, and not a thought foundation to become better people.

Thank you for such a thought provoking post.
I absolutely agree with you. I remember an example given to me by my father. He too is a very highly educated proffesional. In his company, worked an old man since almost 30 years. His only task was to supervise the compressor.
And after gaining the experiance of 30 years, he became such a master of handling various jobs with compressor that my father bets no one can beat that old man, who has hardly studied upto 3rd grade in school in handling the compressor. The old man even amused that employees of a reputed chemical company of Japan who had come to visit the factory in India.
