Borrowing of ideas is okay is it is done properly and also by paying some fees to the original artiste. Arrangement could be a lump sum payment or worked out through royalties. I notice Pritamji is being blamed for such acts, and he should clarify and rectify matters.

I can't confirm this but heard from my friend that mere dholna is actually loosely based on old Rabindra Sangeet.

I checked on Youtube and his list of DIRECT lift is endless...!!
If he had taken a few bars or just a line or two then translated it into a masterpiece it would have been great, I wonder how he judges on stage.

I think few years down the line when SEL took up pretty woman, they paid royalty for that.

Pritamji has improved the orignals in most cases. Anyway if there really is an infringement then there should be a legal case. Looks like no one is taking any action agaainst him so far????????😆 I do like Pritamji's works and hope he finds some legal ways to continue. As time goes by several old pieces need rework and improvement.
