Murray played also good in the final but Federer showed his champion class....he was better. But Murray did a wonderful job in the semi final....It was a great semi final. We will see some more great tennis of Murray in the future...

It was great to Federer back to the form we are accustomed seeing from him. The win and the title was well deserved, after having a difficult season for him.
But I think that Andy Murray said it best when he congratulated him after the match when he told him to don't let anyone tell him he didn't have a great year. So let's hope that he regains his number one ranking in 2009, because I think he truly is the best player in tennis today. (no offence to Nadal who is great but can't compare to the legacy of Federer)

Definitely. But no one can deny that Rafa was the best player of 2008. His tremendous match-streak and grit alone qualify him for that. Roger may be the greatest of all time, but what Rafa has done this year has been just lights-out. I'm no fan, but credit is well due.

I agree, I'm not trying to undermine Nadal's achievement this year, for him it was a phenomeonal year, but even his great year could have been better (The Australian and the US Open still elude him).
