Everyone at some point of life must have faced this - One wants something real bad in life, for year's, works for it hard and once they get it, eventually they loose the value of or interest in that, and focuses on something else.

My argument is – Why?

Is this a natural phenomenon of seeking continuous change or something else? Why can't people be satisfied or work their minds around on what once upon a time they desired the most, value or appreciate it rather then setting new goals?

Purposefully not pointing the exact instances / scenarios to keep this arguable discussion open, and give everyone an opportunity to relate it with different scenarios in life.

I guess the concept of more is better prevails as usuall!!!😆 that being said, i'd like to add that i think there's nothing wrong with setting a goal and once its achieved to move on and set another goal... for the constant battle of wanting better, bigger, more powerful is forever keeping our economies going.... so hence that is why once we get what we set out to acheieve it looses its luster and we chase after the next best thing since sliced cheese.. whatever that maybe... okay well thats it from me... ...nice topic....by the way..

Nice response, with that its a right assumption that an individual cann't be ever satisfied, he or she will lok forward to a change or next goal. Right?

That's a natural phenomenon and that's exactly what has been described by Abraham Maslow in his Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs. All men, or at least most of them are ambitious to some degree or the other. So, when one ambition of ours get fulfilled we try to achieve the next even larger and higher ambition.
However, I don't think that it'll be correct to say that they forget about what they've already got or they suddenly grow some need to achieve more. People never forget what they've achieved and they always feel proud about it but as is right most of them don't want to rest on past laurels but want to take their list of achievements even higher. Moreover, the targets or goals that one wants to achieve doesn't suddenly appear in one's life, truth is it is there from birth. Only thing is all the goals are not clear from the very beginning; they're obscure but they're there from the start that's for sure. Once we achieve one goal the next suddenly comes nearer, seems more achievable and it becomes clear for us as to what goal is to achieved next. And this phenomenon starts at birth with a child trying to learn how to talk and then to walk and continues with having an education, becoming a pro in whatever field he/she chooses, choosing a mate, having his/her own children, giving them a good life, climbing up the ladder in professional life, life after retirement, etc. etc. till the time he/she dies.

well people may not forget what they achieve but it defintely looses its luster and therefore they look for the next big fix..of what will make them happy or make them more satisfied, for if one were to set a goal that makes them satisfied then there would never be a need to achieve more...there's a book that i once read and its titled the " millionaire next door" and it was amazing to see that the millionairs werent the people that drive the expensive cars and live in the huge houses, it was infact your average looking joe driving the most average car living in the most average house..that was the millionaire....it was a cute take on life and how some people are never satisfied with what they achieve and hence just grow further into debt trying to achieve happiness with commodities rather then looking at the real reasons why they need more...its the concept that sometimes more is not better its just MORE..😆
hope you dont mind i quoted you...

No, I don't mind you quoting me. Afterall it's Debate Mansion, it's meant for freely airing your views and opposing others (if you don't agree).
Actually we're both basically saying the same thing. The people don't forget about their achievement but they don't also remain satisfied with theri achievements. It's like you can come first in your whole country in your board exams, but then even though you don't forget about your achievement but still naturally you'll also try to come first in college or uni. It's because now for you your next goal has become clear and also another factor is, you know if you rest on your past achievements then others will move ahead of you which nobody wants.

It is called Mirgtrishna that is a person can never be satisfied. Satisfaction of achieving somthing arisies new needs too
You buy a house asnd then you want to furninsh it, by the time you finish that you are fed up of the old furnishing soon and want change as per trends. or additions in the house or replacement of furniture curtains etc, inspite of having them.

Wait I am explaining my wife here😕 😆
ANyway bottom line is as a human nature, satisfaction is not in our dictionary or else we would not be trying to sent sattelites in outer space and change the mother nature. We would have stayed in stone age.
