Its perfectly fine to have religious rounds IMHO. The tradition and culture of India has allowed the Indian and Muslim communities to freely interact with each other and this is most evident in Bollywood and its music where superstar SRK is proud to have a Hindu wife.
The development of North Indian Classical music certainly has contribution from Islam, in fact according to one school of thought raaga were Arabic concept, similarly we didn't have instruments like tabla and many others if the two culture hadn't interacted thoroughly. If Bade Ghulam Ali Khan saab could have a statue of Sarswati in her house then that razes all doubts. I wonder what would have been the standard of our poetry in music if didn't have stalwarts like Mazrooh saab, Shakeel Badayun, Javed Akhtar and many others.
Bollywood music's culture strongly draws support from these two religions, we have a song called O duniya ke rakhwale by Muslim trio: Shakeel Badayn (writer), Naushad (musician) and legendary M Rafi singer and there he sings Bhagwan many many times, so this mix up of culture is perfectly OK and should be promoted.
PS was just seeing the news where they are covering Salman Khan doing Ganpati Puja..! That's India.
I agree. Religion is very much tied into the culture of India and into music.
