Its perfectly fine to have religious rounds IMHO. The tradition and culture of India has allowed the Indian and Muslim communities to freely interact with each other and this is most evident in Bollywood and its music where superstar SRK is proud to have a Hindu wife.

The development of North Indian Classical music certainly has contribution from Islam, in fact according to one school of thought raaga were Arabic concept, similarly we didn't have instruments like tabla and many others if the two culture hadn't interacted thoroughly. If Bade Ghulam Ali Khan saab could have a statue of Sarswati in her house then that razes all doubts. I wonder what would have been the standard of our poetry in music if didn't have stalwarts like Mazrooh saab, Shakeel Badayun, Javed Akhtar and many others.

Bollywood music's culture strongly draws support from these two religions, we have a song called O duniya ke rakhwale by Muslim trio: Shakeel Badayn (writer), Naushad (musician) and legendary M Rafi singer and there he sings Bhagwan many many times, so this mix up of culture is perfectly OK and should be promoted.

PS was just seeing the news where they are covering Salman Khan doing Ganpati Puja..! That's India.

I agree. Religion is very much tied into the culture of India and into music.

I don't thinks this post is meant to discuss multi-cultural mixing and the role of one religion in the other.

The fact that a theme is based around one specific religion, I feel it just makes one feel uncomfortable at times. I dunno.

Not that I'm against any religion whatsoever. 😃

I agree to you & mrs ackles 100%. These kinds of theme in international shows like srgma brings nothing but controversy. I dont like muslim boys and girls taking part in pooja and stuff. It does not get a good influence on our young muslim generation who watch the shows. I dont mind hindu boys and girls take in pooja rituals but dont invite muslim boys and girls to do the same. How the hindu parents feel if their kids were taken to mosque for prayers with the muslim boys and shown on national tv. Hindu extremists will mob the tv station. I am not against any religion so please do not start a war.

why it has negative influence on young Muslim..?
India thinks the other way for sure at leat the middle class real India. Many Hindus regularly visit Ajmer's famous dargah and let Eid come you will see zee celebrating that festival in same gusto. (Actually Zee already is celebrating Ramadan Kareem special).
For some international viewres this can come as surprise but trust me at least in Bollywood music the two cultures are inseparable and symbiotic.
