Ganesh Utsav is the biggest festival of Maharashtra. If you don't like their culture, why do you watch their TV? There is no wonder if SRGMP's one episode is dedicated for Ganesh Utasav.

I don't think this post was meant to be offensive to any specific culture. You're taking offense for no reason. Its a general post on religious themes.

I personally have no problem episode based on Religion or religious festival. But content of the show or songs performed should be on that theme.
I did not see anyone singing Lord Ganesha songs during the episode. yeah I heard enough Naras on "Ganpati Bapa morya"
I am Kind of in agreement with MrsAckles and Woh Ajanabee.

thats the whole point i was trying to make in my first post....i would like to see them celebrate other religious days as well....keep all religions equal., or scrap it altogether.

I'm not sure, I'm a little ambivalent on this point. I don't like them bringing religion in these shows either because there are contestants of different religions. However, I guess that they weren't singing religious songs, so its not as significant.

I don't thinks this post is meant to discuss multi-cultural mixing and the role of one religion in the other.

The fact that a theme is based around one specific religion, I feel it just makes one feel uncomfortable at times. I dunno.

Not that I'm against any religion whatsoever. 😃

i was thinking what if one contestant is not really up to celebrating a festival that is not associated with their religion....what then?
hmmmmmm, now i'm confused. i guess they weren't singing any religious songs....just celebrating a festival as someone has already pointed out.

I agree. MrsAckles didn't say anything against any culture. She just stated her point of view. I think a lot of posts in this section are misunderstood 😆 😳

I made my comment on the heading 'I don't like religious round'. Zee TV is a Mumbai-based TV channel. They cannot ignore the Mumbai's biggest festival, specially on the occassion of Ganesh Utsav. There are so many religious show we watched on SRGMP such as Sufi, Kawali. Bollywood music is not only Hip-Hop, Rock or Rap, it has versatility with all genre including religion. MrsAckles very clearly posted her comment that religious theme should be out of the show.

well first of all i didn't have time to post my point of view in detail..

okay i have no problems with religious rounds if the team realized that they have got a bunch of singers who come from different backgrounds and religions.. they should also have rounds to celebrate vaisakhi (like someone pointed out) or Eid or whatever else...

also when they have selected one festival for the show, at least show some consideration about the contestants who may not want to partake in it.. it just looked staged to me when some of the muslim contestants were praying in front of the statue etc.. religious rounds could be successful and good if the producers handle it with care and careful considerations.. but we all know these reality shows thrive on drama and controversies so that will never happen..

also aditya is not mature enough to handle these sensibilities.. he clearly goes way over the top at the instructions of the producers..
