Karisma chickens out of comeback movie over Kashmir threat
Now this is some news that you might not have heard… former Bollywood screen diva Karisma Kapoor was all set to return to films with a hard hitting role opposite Sanjay Dutt in Rahul Dholakia's Lamha. However, the actress decided not to go ahead with the film after she was told that she would be shooting in Kashmir. Apparently, Karisma was not too happy to shoot in that part of the world because of safety fears.
The role in Lamha has now gone to Bipasha Basu, which has been confirmed by Bunty Walia. "Yes. Bipasha is doing Lamha. She suits the role perfectly."
Lamha is based on Kashmir and will throw light on different issues ranging from terrorists, the army, the displaced Kashmiri pundits and the locals. It's a story about an army man and his love interest in Kashmir, but at the same time, it will portray the various issues that Kashmir has been facing for years now. The film is slated to go on the floors this October. "We will complete the film by December-end," added Bunty.
