Happy Merdeka day to all Malaysians - You can be proud of your
country - this country can be compared to any developed nation.
Last night Pak lah was standing on the stage with one whole
lot of people and singing the songs happily - no black cats,
no gunmen standing guard, no bullet proof encased podium...
- it felt good to know that this country is peaceful , free of violence.
I just hope and pray that this country enjoys this peace - for ever.
Happy Merdeka day once again and long live Malyasia

The voice declaring Independence! Independence! Inependence! resonated around the stadium was greeted with thunderous echoes and applause as they watched the Union Jack come down and the Malaysian flag go up. That voice belonged to our first Prime Minister, the People's Prince, the Royal who commanded the love and respect of his people, Tunku Abdul Rahman Al-Haj. At last we lost the shackles of colonialism that seized us for more than 100 years.

It's good to be free.
