Do these kind of marriages happen even now?
I have just seen two episodes so far. The one yesterday and the one before that. I realised it is the story of a child bride and how she has to cope with her new found home. The little girl is really endearing. 👏
I am a bit confused though, is this a contemporary story or a period theme?😕 I know such marriages are occurring in many parts of India and more so in Rajasthan. But the family seems to be educated. So why the haste to get Anandi married? 🤔 Even the intervention of the social worker I believe didn't put off the marriage. 😲 That was disheartening. 😔
I also noticed the written messages at the end of the episodes. P'haps, in a way, they are trying to spread the message that, at the end of the day, child marriages are not really okay. 👍🏼 But most of us cannot catch the written words fast enough. If one needs to discourage this regressive custom, I think there should be a voice that speaks out this message/ slogan for greater impact. If the serial is trying to disuade people from this awful practice, then I am all for it. 👍🏼 Even if ten minds are converted to thinking progressively, it would be gr8. I would hate little girls like Anandi to miss out on the best part of their lives --- childhood. 😡 😭
It's only my POV but don't you think so too? ❓🤔
