Speaking about the serial Prahbleen said, "It is a love story based in a historical background. We are showing the pre independence time period of 1942-1947. My character's name is Kranti. She is a patriot."
So is the serial similar to the film 1942: A Love Story? "The film was also based on the same time period. But the serial is not exactly like the film. The boy in the serial is a Barrister who has come from Great Britain. He thinks that the English values are very high."
Talking about independence Prabhleen said, "For me, every independence day is a special day. My family back in Punjab waits for Independence Day and celebrates it. 15th August is like a festival to us. I remember we used to have a lot of functions when I was a child. I think every person, whether he says it or not, loves his country. After working in this serial I have realised that whatever sacrifices that were made by the people for our country's independence have not gone wasted."
So is there anything that she would like to change in the country? "I think we still treat foreigners in our country very specially. I do not think that is a good thing. I do not think we are inferior to them in any way. If we go to a foreign country, we are looked down. I don't think they require any special attention," Prabhleen signs off.
