Gals, did you realise that today is August 13th? Exactly one year back Milsi frightened Prachi with a near rape. Both Shabbo and Panchi gave one of their most powerful performances. Isn't it ironic that after a year Milsi is made to cool his heels in prison for a crime he did not commit? While Milsi stopped himself from what would have been an inhuman and dastardly act because of his intrinsically upright nature, PPP had to be stopped from raping Milsi by an enraged Ayesha who had to lay down her life to save his honour. Unfortunately it is Milsi who is punished for PPP's act and what is worse is that he is still in the dark about her true nature.

The near rape itself was a defining moment in Michi's relationship. The consequences of it left an indelible mark on Milsi who went out of his way to make amends when he realised how wrong he was. He braved the deluge to get his wife a saree. It is not so much the saree itself but what it symbolised for him. He wanted to restore back her dignity which he had very nearly plundered. The colour of the saree symbolised that he believed in her purity. He sought an unspoken forgiveness through this act which helped in Michi moving ahead in their relationship.
Lets hope that Milsi's imprisonment will be another defining moment in Michi's relationship, this time with Prachi battling all odds to keep her husband's reputation in tact both for herself and her baby.

Opti, I know im a little off track here but since we're going back in time i just have to say that somehow i never saw it as a "near rape" but as a mock rape attempt. Well, there is a difference in the two. Seeing how his intent was to torment her, put her through the same hell his sister was subjected to by her brother, instill a similar kind of fear in her, and to drill in all the hatred he felt for her, it can hardly be termed a near rape. Even after he crushed her bangles causing them to pierce her skin, he asks her whether she is in pain. All he wanted was revenge. For him, It was just payback time. He knew fully well he wasnt gonna rape her. Or even attempt to nearly rape her. Also, since you mention his "intrinsically upright nature" it is exactly the reason why he would never go that far nor stoop that low. Which is why i also dont think "Milind stopped himself". May be from Prachi's point of view it would look like he stopped himself. But from his, that was as far as he was gonna go. He was, after all, successful in his mission. I think he went just as far as he intended to, seeing how she was trembling with fear. That was what he wanted to accomplish and he did. What im saying here is I kinda disagree with your choice of words, although, you may indeed believe the same thing and see as i do.
And yeah, now that u talk about it being one year since that incident, its ironic how he's paying the price for something he didnt do just as much as he almost made prachi pay the price for something she didnt.

From Milind's side, I also think it was not really a rape. It was more like Milind pushing and pulling Prachi as he always did. Milind's words were more horrible than the act.

For Poor Prachi, not knowinig what his intentions were it was terribly scary.

Bee, thanks for correcting me. Yes, that was poor choice of words. I meant what you said. He knew he was not going to do it but he wanted her to believe he did and see the terror in her eyes. He felt that by doing so he would get some sort of retribution for what his siter had to go through because of her brother. His reasoning was however distorted. If at all he wanted to pay back Prachi in the same coin, he should have pretended to love her, bed her and then ditch her which is what Alaap did. Alaap did not rape Suki. She went to him on her own. Milsi, being the impatient man he is and also because of his intrinsically upright nature, as I put it, cannot be as devious as Alaap and instead approaches the issue in a more direct manner where what he threatened to do is there in front of Prachi's eyes. As you put it now Milsi seems to be in the same boat as Prachi, being punished for a sin he did not commit much as he punished Prachi for a sin she did not commit. What is even more ironic is that he is accused of killing Ayesha who was a prime instigator in fuelling his hatred towards Prachi in the past.
Having said that what he did was no less than a near rape. Rape is not just a physical act. He raped her of her dignity, her self worth. After all the kurukshetra war started with Dushasan's disrobing Draupathi.

Shubs, what he did then was certainly different from his subsequent physical abuses. He was not merely pushing and pulling her. He rebuked her womanhood. Ofcourse he was blinded by his anger and I personally felt that when he came the next day looking out for her, deep within it was to ensure he had not caused her any permanent emotional damage although he tried to cover itup by saying she is a dramabazi.

The highlighted parts are so apt hun you've read Milsi perfectly. He never intended to rape her in the first place he never could allow himself to stoop so low and commit so heinous a crime. He wanted to terrorize her traumatize her by making her believe he would infact go ahead with the act but he knew he wouldn't rather he couldn't. He wanted her to feel the pain his sister went through. And yeah it's sad he's paying a price for an act he has not committed, saddening really.

Precisely. That is something he (M) just refuses to believe. But did he ever seek to find out the truth.. i dont really remember..
