Mouni did a better job than Vikas, for whatever the reasons maybe. But when you challenge someone, you challenge them to win. You put your best foot forward, and try to dampen the opponent, and that is exactly what the girls did. In the Khallas round, the whole point is to win based on strength. Mouni and the girls did just that.

As far as the dances go. I thought that both of the performances were poor. I was expecting much more from both the team's choreographers. Kathak is a true form of abhinaya. SO much can be done with the dance form. Being a kathak dancer myself, I get very excited when kathak is shown on television, but the performances were not exciting at all. I really wish the team's choreographers had more time and effort into bringing out the true beauty of kathak dance.

On a side note (sorry this s so long). I felt as if the judges were completely unknown of the dance form. Reason being, their comments on each performance confirmed (for me) that they have never actually seen a truly purely kathak based performance. Because you can't really judge the two dances since they were based on two different gharanas of kathak. Its like comparing qwali maestro Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan to Ghazal extrodenair Jagit Singh...it just can't be done.

P.S. the tie was the dumbest decision. If it was up to me, I'd put both the teams' choreographers on the bench...(sorry, I got a little to emotional and carried away...lol)

I soo.. agree with u... if narayani is on the bench then vikas together with amit should have been on the bench the other day...double standards by judges i tell u!

Vikas's dance as 'Kathak' was horrible.... name it any other form i might think of reconsidering my statement... it was everything but 'KATHAK'!!!!!

i agree with watever is said...vikas's performance reminded me of a bollywoodish performance..where sumone in a moment of passion..just whirls around throwing hands in air..without any grace or style
kathak is much more than that..infact frankly even though mouni was good...her performance didn't touch me either..like u said d choreography was weak..and it was more kind of a dance shown in films and not the actual classical one...
but saying vikas didn't know kathak and thats why deir scores r tied is really an insult and a mockery of mouni's effort...
if i compare the two episodes...one of kathak and one of popping and locking then narayani's effort was atleast at par with bhaktiyar's except for sum technical errors but in kathak vikas's was nowhere close to mouni's performance...its really unfair to the girls

who is better among vikas nd mouni in kathak dance...

Looking by choreography, steps, and all that mouni wins bec. she has been trained and have done performances before...i luved her dance...very graceful...

okay so she had 7-8 yrs of training vs vikas who learned it in much lesser time...so looking at that point of view vikas did an excellent job and all the credit and praises go to him for learning and attempting it...

now comparing two...personally i rather not compare bec. one is an trained actor vs another who has no traning or experience and new to this form of dancing...mouni is gr8 at kathak no doubt and vikas learned it very well...

the way of judging declaring it was a tie is wrong to me because no dance form is as easy that one can learn it in a week or few days and can be excellent in it....yes 100% credit vikas did gr8 job but chunkey going and saying if mouni has a dancing school vikas is principal of it is just not right...

if i were to judge this performance i wud have given vikas 9 and mouni 10...

no offence and hard feeling...just my opinion...

Mouni was definitely much better and should have been given better marks.

I mean, I understand the point that Vikas has never performed before an all, but the judges should decide the scores on the basis of that day's performance, and not on backgrounds and how much they've learnt and all. Mouni was better so she should get better marks.

It was a good try but not that good that it shuld end up in a tie.....
If it was Bharatnattyam i wuld have accepted Vikas's performace but not this one.....

TRUE! I am a Kathak Dancer..have passed 5th year..
Kathak is abt Grace & Beauty...Kathak means Dipicting a Story which was visible in Mouni's performance but not in Vikas'.
Vikas wasn't graceful at All.. All his 'Mudras' [poses] were WRONG!.. I Hate tht in Kathak..His expression was as if he was Angry!!😆
Mouni had grace & beautiful expressions & also all the right Mudras!..Love her.. My fav among all!..
I appreciate Vikas's effort BUT Mouni shud have Won!
