VJ-turned-actress Shenaz Treasurywala recently had a scary experience that inspired her to start a chauffeur service.
She relates, "My sister and I were driving at night and were followed by guys on a bike. It was a terrifying experience. The ordeal made us start a chauffeur service. Through this we provide reliable, married, police-verified, experienced and affordable drivers to young girls who want to go out at night but think twice as they either don't have a date or do not want to rely on their male friends. I'm elated at the great response."
Shenaz, a popular VJ, reveals that joining the world of showbiz was never a conscious decision. "After my first ad, I was flooded with offers, which I took up. Soon, I decided that it could be a lucrative business with a parallel college life." Shenaz says that there's not much that she could have done about being on the plumper side. She says, "I couldn't be a stick. I remember the first few times I modelled, other girls laughed at my big behind. I felt like a fat pig, even though I really wasn't. When you are 15 and other girls nick-name you a little piggy and fatty, you believe them. However, the work never stopped, my phone kept ringing. I earned well and I spent my earnings on my education and travelling."
The pretty lady is kicked about hosting The Great Indian Laughter Challenge 4 . "I was contracted for the preliminary round, 12 episodes; I finished the shooting in two short schedules," she confirms and adds that she would soon be seen with the former host Perizaad Kolah on the show. "Yes, that's true. While I was roped in to host the preliminary rounds, Perizaad would anchor the elimination rounds. Two mad bawis (Parsi for girls), they couldn't have made a better decision," she chuckles.
She also maintains that Navjot Singh Sidhu is the life of the show.
"The show cannot go on without Sidhu. An absolute gentleman, he knows how to boost the morale of the participants. It is a pleasure to have him on the sets with that infectious laughter," she says.
