Sridevi says NO to Yash Raj for comeback film

Now here is an interesting piece of news to tantalise your mind with, veteran actress Sridevi has said NO to powerhouse production house Yash Raj Films for a comeback flick.

Apparently, Anil Kapoor's Bhaabi was approached by Yash Raj Films headman Yash Chopra for an engrossing love story, similar to their previous hits Chandni and Lamhe (both of which saw Sridevi at her best), and which would see her opposite legend Amitabh Bachchan. However, Sridevi politely said NO to the project.

A source says, "After a few days, Yash and Sridevi's husband Boney Kapoor had a chat about this film. Boney told Yash that he too was keen to re-launch his wife Sridevi in his own production and it would be better if Yash cast some other actress instead."

Now that was the official line… but the unofficial take is, "Sridevi is not happy with Yash Raj Films constant failures at the Box Office, bearing in mind that apart from Chak De India they have not had a hit for a good while now. She does not want to ruin her comeback in Bollywood by working with a production house that seems to have died away. Another veteran Bollywood actress, Madhuri Dixit also saw her comeback film (Aaja Nachle) flop miserably and now Sridevi doesn't want to go the same way."

Talking on this subject, Sridevi's husband Boney has said, "Sridevi's comeback film has to have an extraordinary subject. It can't be a run of the mill story."
