interview: People say I resemble Madhuri’

After doing a number of commercials and a few music videos actress Sunayana has now become a household name with the TV show Santaan.

She has done a couple of Kannada films and was even nominated for best debut. Currently, she is acting in a Telugu film with Mohan Babu's nephew Narendra Kumar. Says Sunayana, "I am pretty busy right now and happy with whatever projects I have. My parents and relatives are very happy with Santaan. But yes, I don't want to be in the South for too long and would love to do mainstream Hindi films in the future. But people down South are really good to work with."

Sunayana was a child artist. "I did the popular kids show Khul Ja Sim Sim and had done an ad with Kundan Shah. I have been performing on the stage since I was in the fourth standard. After that, I took a break to concentrate on my studies." The best things in her life, she says, have happened when she hasn't given auditions, be it Bappi Lahiri's music video or the Corporate number!

So how's she off-screen? "I think I am absolutely crazy and really do mad things! I have many friends and we love to hang out. I can't remain lonely even for a second. I also love dancing and outdoor sports like badminton," she informs. Madhuri Dixit happens to be her childhood idol and she says excitedly, "You know, some people have told me that I resemble her a bit. If I can achieve even a little bit of what she has done, I would consider myself lucky," she smiles.
