I think you may be right. She wants Mahi trapped. But this is stupid way of doing it. To hurt and humiliate your mother this way? She sure is a weird daughter.

character Kumud is just a puppet in the hands of the world's most ludicrous director - Ekta. She has conveniently erased the past and all logical steps - as she is just pushing to end the show. She just decided to create a new hassle - the ultimate one which is daughter-mother conflict. The moral of the story is that u can't trust anyone in the world except urself - u come alone and leave alone. The serial is out and out negative and has no hope for any happy ending. Kusum was raving and ranting about revenge - in the end she is shown as a big zero. All the villans are happy and rejoicing. This is so far removed in practical life.
