We will retaliate!

Rajiv and Delnaz Paul snubbed by other contestant couples on the sets of Nach Baliye

What started off as celebrity contest has now been reduced to a school competition. Bhala uski kameez meri kameez se safed kaise (how come his shirt is whiter than mine) is the attitude now," says an angry Delnaz Paul.

Sources on the sets of Nach Baliye say that the couple was jeered at by other couples who made snide remarks on the Pauls' continued presence on the show. But, the Pauls are not one to take it lying down lightly. "I am fully aware that a lot of people are talking about me. They are not very happy about the fact that we continue to be on the show and are under the impression that we thrive on these votes," says Rajiv.

Rajiv adds, "Why do they forget that the audience and judges both have a say in who stays and who leaves. And what's wrong in asking our family and friends to vote for us? Also, if they do vote for us, can such a small group account for the ten lakh votes that we got? So how other contestants say that we thrive on votes? And if we were getting substantial votes from the audience, why would we have stood in the danger zone thrice?"

Joining in the angst, Delnaz adds, "Right from the beginning, we were the underdogs of the show. This show started with a familylike bonding between the 20 of us. But now it is not so. Jahaan paise ki baat aati hai wahan bhai bhai ko nahi chodta. (When it comes to money you have no brothers). We feel unwanted by the same people we were close to once. This became more blatant after after the last episode when Apurva Agnihotri and Shilpa Saklani were eliminated. They other couples were quite vocal and expressed their surprise at our continued presence in the show."

Prior to this, Rajiv and Delnaz were always viewed as a likeable and approachable couple. So, this treatment came as an unpleasant surprise for both of them. "If someone likes us, we can't stop them from voting for us. I don't want to be spiteful or vengeful. I will just do my job. I want to keep people around me, the producer and the director happy,"she adds.

Now, the couple has every intention of retaliating, but only through their dance. "It hurts, but let people say what they want to. By doing so, they are only increasing my grit to better my performance. From day one, I have been honest about not being a good dancer and I know one day I will be out of the show. But on the day I get eliminated, I will not demean the show," says Rajiv.

Revved up to better his performance, the concerned husband is however worried about his sensitive wife. "I am a warm person and when cold people come to me, they melt. I am worried about Delu because she is sensitive," Rajiv says.

oh yeah but what abt the other couples who are behaving like school kids as well expressing their displeasure openly abt how they shldnt be there and how they are just thriving on the audiesnce votes....i think thats wrong too..they shld be sportive enough to accept all this
what can delnaz-rajiv do if the audince votes for them afterall its not in their hands.all they cn do is dance and improve ...its not their fault that they got more votes than others .....i think anyone would get hurt when for no fault of theirs..they get snubbed
thats so mean of the couples tosnub at them when its not in their hands .....
the same happened with qazi from fg and he got more votes due to others snubbing at him ....
anyway its indeed mean and not right

I am afraid this competition is rather turning into 'who looks more cute' competition rather than 'who can dance well competition'. What kind of audience votes for Rajiv Delnaz against the likes of Archana Parmeet??

It is rediculous.I think Star One shud rename it a "Just look cute Baliye" 😡 instead of 'Nach' Baliye. Obviously there is hardly anything about 'Nach' Baliye anymore.

Before I forget my manners, let me thank you for the article. These trp games of the channels is leaving a very bad taste in the mouth !!!

By the way, Rajeev Delnaz just missed one point in their blast : All the other contestants are snickering at their presence because they are bad dancers and for them the performers are getting thrown out. Had it only been about money, the other contestants couples would have liked the fact that they will have less of a compitition if RD continue to be in the competition because less good performance, better their chance of money. I am sure Sachin Supriya would have faced tougher competition from Archana Parmeet than Rajiv Delnaz !!! Out of six, they have stood in the danger zone thrice and they never garnered any decent votes from the judges, that should have been enough to disqualify them.

hmmm...I think they are talking about Poonam since in one of last weeks episode she was talking about how Rajeev keeps asking for votes all the time.

But why doesn't Star One publicize the number of votes each couple gets so that we get an idea of the way the couples are leading or trailing?

i dont understand what can rajiv-delnaz do abt it....i mean just like others they are not born dancers but have the desire to win just like the other couples so they are dancing and trying to improve....i mean no one would dance thinking they are bad....they would obviously give their best which they are trying to do ......so why blame them when nothing is in their hands.....all they can do is dance and try to improve themselves and give their best shot .....the rest in with the janta

so blaming them and snubbing at them is totally ridiculous and childish on the parts of other couples .I am not even a fan of delnaz-rajiv but that doesnt mean that others snubbing at them becomes right.the public voted and its not their fault that they got more votes than apu-shilpa or parmeet-archana as they have every right to try to win and ask for votes jsut like the other couples

with u on that one minnie! its a dance competition so it should be treated like that!

I agree with u Sapna.. they shud announce the no. of votes

that's really unfair.
But even i think that shilpa and apurva shudn't have been out. 😭
