The funny thing is Rahul Gandhi was shouting and demanding that Amit Shah explain why there was a lathi charge on students, even though thousands of people present there had criminal records and some of them pelted stones at police officers. Amit Shah agreed to a debate, and Rahul Gandhi ran away. Now he’s completely silent about the lathi charge and tear gas being used on students who were peacefully marching towards the Assembly by his own government

That won’t happen because whenever it’s not BJP govt then results are fair , exams are fair and protests must be quashed. There is no resignation or govt collapse. There is no Soros funding and junaid who can’t afford 3 meals a day himself providing food daily.

We were told casteism is a curse of Hinduism specifically and other better religions ( aka Abrahamic religions ) don't have caste system ? Then, how are they getting caste based privileges ??

No one said a single word . No protest. No Sonam Wangchuk came to fast for us.

Guess general category students are not human beings. So their lives, hopes , dreams , future, nothing matters.

Those 21 students who lost their lives and the cockroaches and their supporters couldn't get tired of using their deaths as a talking point, do you know all 21 of them belongs to general category ?? Are we ready for the conversation about what kind of mental pressure , hopelessness and distress a gc student goes through before each and every single exam they sit for in their lives ??

Every year general category achievers are fleeing the country , exodus style because they know not they don't have a future here , their children will have to suffer the EXACT same unfair reservation system that ruined their lives. My own cousin vehemently says, " Kahi bhi ja kar rahe lenge, gulami kar lenge , pad yaha nehi. "

In this farce of a protest in the name of education I saw the same Jai Bhim bs, the same shaming of general caste people , same complete absence of including the curse of reservation in the entire conversation.

Don't you effing dare to tell me this joke was a protest about education! This country is becoming a joke with how people get on board with these theatrics that will, in the end , cause no real progress as they're carefully skirting across the real problems because those problems are not in their interest or in their party manifesto.

Why doesn’t any mainstream politician or even so called student movement raise quota system issue? 80 years of Independance and we still see quotas based on caste and opposition wants to increase it.

NEET is a much smaller problem compared to this one.

That being said, over 13k students commit suicide every year. That's an alarming number. A lot of them are forced to end their lives due to parental pressure and reservations. Unless the folks are willing to address the issues faced by these 13k students as well, the current display of overwhelming concern is mere pretense.

@bold no one has even spoken about this being the core issue. The Indian culture of parental pressure on kids and pressure on kids to perform in this system. Where one has to get close to perfect scores to stand a chance at selection while quotas qualification. Is showing up for exam

In the meantime the lovely people from our neighboring terrorist countries see this thread as an opportunity to write against India and its government. Some going even as far as expressing fear for WB since they can’t come to India as illegals anymore or let’s just say that it became a lot harder. They are all so angry at Indias rise but somehow unable to realize that giving up their jihad raises possibilities for them to rise as a society as well instead of anger over neighbors doing well

Just asking: 1) How comes that there are students with abysmal scores who get posts like in the medical sector which I could read in the Current Affairs - News thread? 2) Which "rise" do you mean? In which sectors vital for common Indians is there a rise except in taxes and pricing (now even more with the UPI-bill-change as now the charging of fees for UPI transactions is allowed - and who lastly will profit from that bill quickly passed)?

Do those who - repeatedly - accuse other members of being 'enemies of India' (like Pakistanis, a European woman, Indians questioning the government) have explanations for the questionable things that happen in India with political and judiciary support so that those things can be seen in a positive light? (and no, I'm not writing in favour of any political opposition that, too, makes questionable things there, where they are in power).

Anyways, I would prefer to quit this thread here... I just reacted - again - to the renewed accusation against members with opinions not favourable to the current politics which includes the official behaviour towards students and other predominently peaceful protesters.

Mamata was directly related to R G Kar case and her party was the one who killed that doctor. Everyone knows that. The only reason she met them was to bully and threaten them that they'd face dire consequences and their licences will be canceled if they continued with the protest.

She was supposed to be voted out 5 years ago , the only reason tmc stayed in power after 2021 was because people of WB were not allowed to participate in the election of 2021. She was planning on commit8ng a wide hindu genocide all over WB with her party goons and declare WB a part of Bangladesh post 2026 election which she'd planned to win the same way she did during previous election , by not allowing people of Bwngal to vote.

Now Bangladesh is furious that their big plan of capturing Bengal is thwarted for now.
