Why do they do so I never understood

Misrepresentation on a mass level of our gods is not a mistake. It’s intentional and a deliberate move. We all know media is the most effective way to brainwash people without them resisting it.

Ask me about it. SPK will make you think our ancestors were so evil towards people of supposed low caste.

I am not saying casteism didn't exist or it was eutopia but the things they showed was next level

1) The Sutas had to live in caves in the outskirts and come out only in night or else if necessary to come out during the day, ensure they only walk below the shades of trees because the upper caste couldn't share the sunlight with lower caste

2) The upper castes can chop off the limbs of Sutas for just touching the weapons

3) They showed Shona(a fictional adoptive brother of Karna in this show the biological son of Radha and Adhirath) being killed (legal punishment) by pouring molten gold in the ears because he had heard Vedic chants. Both Bheeshm and Vidura were there at the place where this punishment was being carried out.

I prefer the best version of ramayana and mahabharat

From my nani who reads it.I have spent my summers listening to her.

I dont like when writers misle the epics for creative reasons

I have read both Ramayana and Mahabharata during Covid lockdowns

It was so amazing and such an eye opener

I still miss those discussions we used to have on Mahabharat and Ramayana forums

Back then casteism didn’t exist. It was Varnas. Caste itself is a Portuguese word and concept introduced by the British in India for their usual divide and rule.

Karna was a student of Guru Drona despite being a Shudra. His dad was also a friend of Dhritrashtra as his personal Saarthi.

Guru Drona only denied Karna the knowledge of the Brahmaastra as he felt Karna wasn’t worthy of the same. And it was his absolute right to do so as the Guru. What shows depict is absolutely nonsense and untrue.

The rest want to depict Karna as noble but he too was full of pride and ego, he purposely challenged Arjun despite being way older than him in the arena where the princes were meant to display the knowledge they acquired from Guru Drona.

Their version of Karna is meant to instil the idea that Shudras were treated like less than human beings by our ancestors from thousands of years ago.

The idea has about as much merit as Sati being a practice forced in India though in both Ramayana and Mahabharata plenty of important women get widowed, be it the three mothers of Prabhu Ram or Satyavati and later Kunti. When neither of them were made to kill themselves by jumping into a fire, why would our ancestors who are the descendants of these very people do it.

It’s the Macaulay model which would frame the Hindus as evil to make us seem monsters to lessen the stigma of the witch burnings carried out in Europe whose numbers far exceed any that were ever recorded for Sati/Jauhar, which were voluntary acts as compared to the witch killings of European women.

Karna wasn't Shudra, he was a Suta, Sutas were children of Brahmin mother and Kshatriya father. Technically they might be lower but practically they were considered lower breed of Kshatriyas

Keechak and Sudeshna at Virats were Sutas and had huge respect we know

Even the adoptive family of Karna was most probably the royal lineage of Anga which was won over by Hastinapur and later Duryodhana gifted him that to rule as a Kshrap

What that show had was such a pathetic portrayal that it's beyond saying

I know he was a Suta, but most people don’t even know Sutas aren’t Shudra. But this false equivalence is aimed at by makers.

Karna had a good life but every show wants to project him as the poster boy of woe is me.

my biggest issue is people showing karna as bechara abla nara who was bounded by his friend to commit henious crime

hes a grown ass man. he knew what he was doing. his loyalty was blessing and curse

SP mahabharat did the same. people really project their woe is me sympathy on him

in MB every character is grey and somehow karna is good boy. oh please
