But their goal sheet tells a different story. I don't think their defense is that weak. Conceding 3 goals in 2 games is fairly okay for a team like Turkey. Their attack is the real problem... it completely let them down, failing to score a single goal in two match.

Opponent in both matches, barely got the ball compared to them but when they did they managed to score a goal. Moreover both Australia and Paraguay are not the best in scoring usually, their defence are stronger comparatively.
I don't remember seeing Turk goalie defending the ball for once Hence in that sense I am saying their defense and goal keeping of Turkey is really poor. And on top of that time this time their attack also let them down as they can't get a single goal out of 62 freaking chances, though some were very unlucky!

But the reason for their elimination was their attack, not their defense, so I find your criticism of the defense a bit unfair.
It was the second match of the group stage, so it was somewhat expected that Paraguay would score. However, Turkey couldn't, even though they should have.
And ball possession means nothing if you can't score a goal.
