Now, how FIFA physically works is beyond this thread, but of course, how the prediction game will work is simple.
Every day there are between 1 to 5 matches. Then, of course, there are things like Top 32, Top 16, quarterfinals, etc. We are going to make our predictions on all of these different areas!
But, but, but…there are 2 new additions this year:
⚽ Firstly, this season you can also submit a prediction on the score for each game. There are points for correctly predicting both teams’ scores and for predicting 1 team’s score.
⚽ Secondly, there are points to be won for correctly predicting each group’s top team.
Points can be won as follows:
⚽ 50 points for each correct Top 32 prediction (this must be provided by Thurs Jun 18 8 AM EST)
⚽ 50 points for correctly predicting each group’s top team (this must be provided by Thurs June 18 8 AM EST)
⚽ 20 points for correctly predicting each group round game’s winner
⚽ 10 points for correctly predicting at least half the score of each game (aka one team’s score)
⚽ 20 points for correctly predicting the full score of each game
⚽ 20 points for correctly predicting a tie in the starting matches (before the Top 32 round)
⚽ 100 points for each correct Top 16 prediction (this must be provided by Wed June 24 8 AM EST)
⚽ 30 points for correctly predicting each Top 32 and Top 16 game’s winner
⚽ 15 points for correctly predicting at least half the score of each game (aka one team’s score)
⚽ 30 points for correctly predicting the full score of each game
⚽ 150 points for each correct quarter-finalist prediction (this must be provided by Sat July 4 8 AM EST)
⚽ 80 points for correctly predicting each quarter final game’s winner
⚽ 40 points for correctly predicting at least half the score of each game (aka one team’s score)
⚽ 80 points for correctly predicting the full score of each game
⚽ 200 points each for correctly predicting the Top 2 (this must be provided by Thurs July 9 8 AM EST)
⚽ 100 points for correctly each semi-finale game’s winner
⚽ 50 points for correctly predicting at least half the score of each game (aka one team’s score)
⚽ 100 points correctly predicting the full score of each game
⚽ 120 points for correctly predicting third place play off winner and finale winner
⚽ 60 points for correctly predicting at least half the score of each game (aka one team’s score)
⚽ 120 points correctly predicting the full score of each game
⚽ 200 points for correctly predicting the Golden Ball of the season (this must be provided by Tues July 14 8 AM EST)
⚽ 200 points for correctly predicting the Golden Glove of the season (this must be provided by Tues July 14 8 AM EST)
⚽ 200 points for correctly predicting the Golden Boot of the season (this must be provided by Tues July 14 8 AM EST)
⚽ All your predictions are to be PMed to me (Minionite) by the deadlines noted above for the big predictions.
⚽ For matches, the predictions are due 2 hours before the match starts. You can always send in advance, but I won’t accept predictions once this 2-hour mark hits. This is because the analysis for the match typically starts around an hour to 2 hours before the game.
⚽ There are no deductions.
⚽ There are no reminders. It is your responsibility to translate the times above into your time and then send me your predictions on time. For some of the bigger predictions (like Top 32, Top 16, etc.) I might send out reminders, but do not wait for my PMs.
⚽ No FIFA knowledge is necessary. The great thing about these prediction games is that everything is online. You can see full stats and details on Google for every team!

Please note that I am on vacation for about 2 weeks in the middle and for about 10 of those days I might be in an area with weak WiFi. Thus, I will ask someone else to post the match details and the threads during this period if I can’t. But please do keep sending me PMs with your predictions at that time.
