Here is my take on Parshuram after watching it from the beginning.
This show will not get the TRP like ghum. Dont even expect that. I would say that even if it stays at 1.2, it is still a good show.
I have been lately analyzing some shows that I watch on and off. And was forced to understand this TRP game.
1. Story/Execution/emotions beats any other reason for TRP. No doubt.
but but
The number of people watching the show also is equally important.
With ghum, these two connected. Hence the longevity and also TRP leader. It is a rare combination. happens only with few shows. TRP's go down instantly if story is compromised. Once connected these audiences will not tolerate any BS! Low TRP means, the show is out or needs a gen leap.
The other shows like Anupama, YRKKH are watched out of habit mostly. Women, who at the end of day, tune in and watch as stress buster. Initially they might have invested in the show and it continued as a habit. They dont mind the story, they want the template, the legacy. It is an emotional bond to the "title" and "legacy" of the show combined with the "suitable" telecast time. The TRPs swing like crazy....but with experienced artists and makers, they survive. Ekta, Ranjan shahi and others will make it happen!
Where does Parshuram fit?
It is a show which is well made. Interesting plot, solid writing and screenplay. Story is not important. It is completely screenplay and execution. I feel like the emotions are realisitc. I am sure "some" people connect to the core emotion of the show. The power imbalance.
The problem this show will have is that, regular audience might "pass" it before giving it a try. But if they see it and connect, which I think any regular household people will, then they will stick to it. IMO. The number of viewers will be less. But tehy will be loyal because the show has necessary ingredients to make it engaging. Like I said before, men, youngsters and a very few women will watch. I DONT think, such TRP even if it is low, will go worse. It will be steady at that level. I dont see any mediocrity at all...in the show.
PS: I am thinking sheetal and shalini face off will bring more women viewers. because the 3rd angle works always!
or Shiv suspecting Shalini of criminal background...trust issues also will work!

) and arguing with Shivprasad, while both are the same person.
The same happened yesterday too, and it's nice to see scenes that focus on them as a couple. I understand there are family scenes and all, but I personally prefer a balance. Like family scenes should be about family, and not romance, whereas romantic scenes should be between couple for me to enjoy. Once in a while, kids are fine, but constant popping and kids being being jealous of their parents' loving each other is bit too much of emphasis on freudian theory of Oedipus/Electra complex and the one I disagreed with most despite being Freud fan
