Novel Discussion Thread: CR - The Road to Glory/Gui Luan

I started reading Road to Glory, and I didn’t find the chapters boring at all.

since the hero’s entry is also at the end of Chapter 1,

I felt the chapter would be good and interesting

At first, I thought it might not be that good, but the novel is actually nice.

I don’t know how the drama adaptation will turn out, though

After the emperor died, Wen Yu’s (heroine's name)

royal family lost power during the war.

While being secretly sent away for a marriage alliance, she was captured by Chen Laizi(villain), who wanted to sell her to a brothel.

To escape, she pretended to have a contagious disease using her allergy, but Chen Laizi later found out and beat her badly.

At the end, Xiao (hero)appears and saves her, and everyone seems scared of him.

Actually, Xiao came there to collect debt money.

But that man didn’t have the money to repay him, so Xiao beat him with a whip and gave him two more days to return the money

Later, Chen Laizi brought her to the hero’s house to work as a maid for his mother.

This is basically the short summary of Chapters 1 and 2. So far, the hero hasn’t really done anything heroic yet .

he still feels more like a troublemaker or thug.

Ps:- Swathi, I wrote a short summary of the first 2 chapters. If you like it, then you should read this novel. I really liked the story

I am waiting for drama first..because obviously novel will be much better than drama..it will lead to more disappointment for me..

On contrary after watching drama, if I read novel ,i get to enjoy it more 😀

Have you read the Road to Glory novel? I really loved Chapter 9, it was so good.

Swathi, guess what? Road to Glory and The Pursuit of Jade both have the same author.

And you know what, the hero in this totally feels like male Fan Changyu version.

Chapter 9 was such amazing comedy .

I really wish you also read the novel, then we could have had so many discussions about it.

The drama will still take at least a year to release, and I can’t wait that long

Ps:- In The Pursuit of Jade , the ribbon plays an important role.

I feel like in Road to Glory, the handkerchief is going to play an important role too

Guys, at first I thought the female lead wouldn’t be good, but after reading the novel, I feel her acting actually matches the character.

Plus, the hero looks exactly like how he was described in the novel.

I’m sure this will also turn out good like Pursuit of Jade .

The rest depends on the editing team and director.

But the hero and heroine both look perfect for their roles.

Now I’m really enjoying Road to Glory.

Actually, the five extra chapters of Pursuit of Jade broke my heart

, so I started reading a new novel instead.

This one doesn’t have extra chapters, and it already has 300+ chapters

Guys, Chapter 20 was so funny. I really want you to read this novel.

In this scene, the heroine cooks food for him even though she doesn’t know how to cook, but she still tries her best.

The vegetables are way too salty, and when he tastes them at first, he notices the saltiness but somehow forces himself to eat, thinking the rice will balance it out.

But then he realizes the rice is half-raw too.

It was such a cute and funny moment. I really hope the drama includes this scene.

Guys, this is such a great romantic novel. You know why?

The hero and heroine don’t talk to each other much,

but they keep helping each other according to the situation.

And the way the writer has written it, all the scenes give such romantic vibes.
