Hi I have started to write again as a hobby after years. I don't know where to post so I'm choosing a familiar safe space and tagging some members randomly thanks.

Some Connections are Meant for a Chapter

There’s a friend I don’t really talk to anymore,

and sometimes the silence of it still reaches me.

Not because it ended badly

but because it ended quietly.

No fight. No betrayal.

Just life, slowly and gently, pulling us toward different skies

until one day we became people

who only exist in each other’s memories.

We called each other sis, forever friend, found family.

Built a whole little world out of games, fangirling, chai talks, late night conversations, and inside jokes.

And we were there for each other too.

Through difficult days, random breakdowns, lonely nights, tiny celebrations, and ordinary afternoons that somehow felt less heavy because the other person existed.

The bond was real.

But some friendships belong more to a season

than to a lifetime though promises for a forever.

To a certain version of us.

To a certain little corner of the internet

where two people once found comfort and sisterhood in each other.

Still, thank you.

For the laughter, the kindness, the safe space, the memories, and all the moments that once felt like home.

Your words carry such quiet grace and emotional maturity. The beauty of this piece lies in how gently it speaks about loss, not with bitterness, but with gratitude!! It captures a kind of heartbreak many people experience but rarely know how to express, the slow fading of a friendship that once felt permanent.smiley5

The lines about becoming “people who only exist in each other’s memories” are especially touching. They reflect how some bonds remain meaningful even after distance and silence take over. And the ending, choosing thankfulness over resentment, makes the whole piece feel warm, human, and deeply relatable. smiley32

This is not just about a friendship ending..... it is about honoring what once existed without trying to erase its value. A very heartfelt and beautifully written reflection. smiley27

So true .it's such a beautiful thing that one need not focus on phasing out of relationships but value the fact they were part of our lives at some moment and our life was beautiful coz of them 😊

I expressed my opinion on this post immediately because it is beautifully heartfelt and painfully relatable. The quiet fading of a once-close friendship is expressed with such grace, warmth, and maturity. What makes it truly touching is the gratitude honoring the memories and love shared, even when life gently led both souls in different directions!!

Glad you found it relatable and resonated with it. I wrote this based on my experience with both offline and online friendships over the years. Years back, I had an online friend who stood with me during tough times. I thank my fate which led to her. She always gave me the right advice. She taught me to laugh again and how to find happiness in little things, a soul sister.

Instead of being bitter about the drift it's lot better to embrace the beautiful memories, I wish she is happy in her life. I'm sure many people have such humans who were just a beautiful fated season in their lives just like we were in their lives, a season that gifted memories of a lifetime.....

I have decided to make my life lessons to memories and words.

I will definitely write more in future in the writers corner thanks again. smiley27

Yes I can relate..when I was reading this..several faces crossed by mind..adulting is like that..we get so caught up with things that catching up with friends takes low priority most times ..some times friends are like passengers that meet you in your life journey getting down when stop comes ...

What kind of things you like to write
