I am on chapter 142, and the hairpin that was heavily highlighted in the drama doesn’t seem to have much importance in the novel.

The ribbon scene, on the other hand, was done well in the novel and was also included in the drama

At first, I thought the hairpin was gone for good because that 'might have been' a tool to track her down but Wei Yan already knew the Fan sisters' location

Then I thought the 'wealthy woman' who bought the hairpin would be Yu Qianqian

I think the hairpin part makes more sense in the novel. Yan Zheng didn't know about the hairpin and it wasn't too long when Fan Changyu went looking for the hairpin but it was already gone. It's impossible for Yan Zheng who was badly injured at that time to walk around in an unfamiliar place to get the hairpin back with no money on him in the first place~

A few days back I saw a clip of ZLH from Sparkle Love shooting on Twitter

I just finished chapter 150 and oh my god! the scene was written so brilliantly.

The emperor setting a trap, and Fan Changyu receiving the princess’s letter through her maid and disguising herself as a eunuch to save Xie Zheng .

it was all so intense and exciting. If the drama had adapted it this way, it would have been even more spectacular.

Maybe they avoided such scenes because of budget limits or episode constraints, though they clearly spent a lot on the first half.

The first half of the novel felt okay to me, but after Xie Zheng leaves Lian Town, the story becomes incredible.

The military camp arc, battles, romance, and pacing are all amazing, with clear writing and almost no plot holes.

Readers who finished the novel before watching the drama were probably quite disappointed with the adaptation.

Novel fans are mostly disappointed with any adaptation. Many things get lost in the adaptation, that's why I started reading the novels first!

If you read the novels of Legend Of The Female General, The Glory, and The Double, you'll curse the drama team even more

Yeah..novel is so well written 👏 atleast climax should have been same as how it was in novel..

They robbed fan changyu's growth as general in drama..

Did u see that even minute details were taken care off in novel ? Like his robes? She went back to take his robes and escaped the place clearly.

I was laughing a lot while reading it especially the part where they disguise themselves and help the prisoner mother and son escape

Even in serious situations, Xie Zheng still keeps the romance going

Yeah..changyu has masks to cover their face..but still XZ out smarted her ..he had backup planned already

There is still another big comedy pending..xz bribes people to talk about him and praise him 😄 i dont want to spoil it for you..it was one of the best chapters
