If you go through songs from Ishq Jalakar to Hum Pyar Karne Wale to Tere Ishq Ne, all describe Hamza's feelings for his country as "Ishq" or "Pyar"

Jaskirat -

He was broken, betrayed by the system he was seeking to protect

Choice between family and his love, he chose family telling his friend that he will fight for his country in his next life

"Hum pyar karne wale" plays with entry of Sanyal as Jaskirat is kidnapped

Jassi tells Sanyal that whatever is left of him is for Waheguru, Sanyal quotes Gurbani and asks Jassi to not leave the battleground

Jassi is given 2nd life as Hamza

Hamza enters with "Ishq Jalakar aa gaya" a heart broken individual, he told Alam that his plan was to stay in Pakistan for some time then go back

I think 26/11 shook him to the core, that's where we see Hamza's resolve breaking, he is composed in entirety of the movie, he is shaken in 26/11 scene, that's where his love for his homeland took over him

"Mere ghar mein ghus ke"

.....

Will continue my rambling later 😭

I so want a spinoff series for these movies, because the scope of exploration in an OTT show would be absolutely insane.

Previously I thought only about Aalam surviving in Pakistan as a mere juice seller in an area notorious for gangsters relying on his wits and quick thinking alone but now I want one about Jamali too because can you imagine the hoops he has had to jump through to get in a position of power while he goes undetected and juggles his mission as a spy to eventually become the coordinator of probably all the spies in the areas of Karachi or Sindh probably? It would be very interesting to see who Mukesh Chhabra casts as a younger Rakesh Bedi.

A sequel is straight up Rizwan coded but can’t be sure if he’s got the chops for the main lead work. So ideally, here as well Jamali could be shown dealing with the fallout from the events of D2 while his daughter is to be protected along with his grandson from any repercussions of being associated with Hamza and the current geopolitical situation in Pakistan which is not a mystery to anyone.

I never imagined that I would say this when I saw Jameel Jamali in the first movie - but, I want a whole show with multiple seasons based on him! smiley36

In my mind, Jamali was always Suar Jamali but after part 2, I keep correcting myself because I can't really disrespect him like that anymore 😭

I understand the feeling completely.

I genuinely wish someone tells Dhar to write this series because OMG it would be awesome! I believe we lack a truly good, big budget and well backed series on any OTT platform in this particular genre. If Dhar takes the lead here it would be phenomenal.

I want Dhar to move away from war/terrorism now and focus on Ashwatthama

His next is not Ashwatthama, it is an action mythological but not that.

I don’t mind if Dhar comes up with a comedy next tbh - given he’s a Priyadarshan mentee - I just want to see his next because I know he’ll make it my money and time’s worth to go to the nearest multiplex to watch his movie while I munch on overpriced popcorn smiley36

What D1 has better than D2 is the old songs and how well they were integrated and choreographed into the narrative....

I still prefer music of Dhurandhar 1 because it had variety, most of Dhurandhar 2 songs are sung by Jasmine

They could have used different artists

Lets see how he does, music played an important role in success of Dhurandhar, they can't really use old songs in mythological movie so it will be a challenge

I think both albums are good but the key difference is that D2 takes time to grow, while D1 has songs that were instantly catchy. You heard them once and were hooked; for D2 it’s not like that. But once you have watched the movie, the tracks grow on you.

I am simply glad that we have 2 amazing albums after ages. Can’t remember when was the last time that happened. These days the songs are so blah they are forgettable.

Dhar and Sachdev have not just used old classics well but made banger new original songs. Their remixes are also fresh and pleasing to the ears the more you listen.

What I think is not as discussed in terms of the music of both the movies is how Dhar and Sachdev have brought back Qawwalis and Ghazals back into limelight in an era where meaningful lyrics and softer music were disappearing. Be it Karwaan in D1 or Jaan Se Guzarte and Bekasi of D2. I can’t believe that I’m hopeful about music in Bollywood again.

I know that I will be buzzing with excitement for whatever Dhar makes next just because I know he’s gonna give us a banger album again.

As someone who has grown up listening to lots of music courtesy of her parents being avid music lovers from the likes to Lata Mangeshkar to Shreya Ghoshal, from Kishore Kumar to Arijit Singh; the fact that Dhar and Sachdev can surprise me with any of these or just introduce me to new talents like Jasmine or Reble from India or Flipperachi has me so excited and happy! Just thinking that I might even randomly hear Doja Cat or Boney M or maybe even Sinatra or Presley if they fit the situation perfectly just makes me wish I had a Time Machine just to know what their next album is! smiley36
