It’s a matter of personal opinions.

I like Dhoni *because* he’s a square shooter. I don’t subscribe to the only winners are remembered, yada yada theory.

Some people like winning at all costs, some don’t. Depends on their personality.

@bold: actually no. Do you know Courtney Walsh did the same thing ? West Indies also went on to lose the series, but he’s still remembered for doing the right thing. Not just him, even Gundappa Vishwanath too.

I am fine with run out, even mankad-ing if the batsman is standing away from the crease too often. Like give him a warning once.

Some batsmen back away too far for running easy 1s & 2s. That’s different & they deserve to be run-out.
