In OG, she does that as she has doubt that their marriage was fake and if she can prove it, these two would be out of her house. In OG, Tarini forcefully enters in the house to get kedar his acceptance as son. Kaushik let them stay and gives them time to prove that he is her brother

I can see here writers make some changes like uv and tarini aren't ex lovers, KD's father is not that evil etc.

Also here they already proved with DNA test that KD is son of khandekar
