Singer Abhijeet Bhattacharya has spoken out again about his fractured relationship with Shah Rukh Khan. In a recent interview, Bhattacharya, who lent his voice to many of SRK's memorable songs, cited the actor's ego as the reason for their falling out.
Bhattacharya alleged that even Farah Khan's husband once physically confronted the Bollywood superstar, yet they managed to mend their relationship. He questioned why SRK hasn't apologized to him and expressed hope for a future reconciliation.
"Shah Rukh Khan's ego and my self-respect are the reasons for the rift. Shah Rukh is younger than me, yet when Farah Khan's husband abused him so much, shah Rukh still hugged him. Aamir Khan even named a dog after < Shah Rukh, and the two of them still became friends," Abhijeet Bhattacharya shared this on a podcast with Nidhi Vasandani, as reported by the Hindustan Times.
"What hurt me was that you couldn't even say sorry once. You are such a big person, yet no apology," he added. Abhijeet also addressed Shah Rukh Khan's fans who have accused him of seeking publicity by mentioning the actor. He asserted that he has no need to use SRK's name for that purpose.
Abhijeet’s work front
For those who might not know, Abhijeet Bhattacharya's voice was instrumental in many of Shah Rukh Khan's most memorable songs. Think of tracks like Woh Ladki Jo Sabse Alag Hai from Baadshah, Tumhe Jo Maine Dekha from Main Hoon Na, and the title song from Chalte Chalte, among many others.
Abhijeet explained why he stopped singing for Shah Rukh Khan
In a previous interview, Abhijeet explained why he stopped singing for Shah Rukh Khan, revealing that the rift occurred because he felt his contributions were not being properly valued. He shared, "When self-respect is hurt, you feel like saying, 'Enough is enough. I wasn't singing for him (Shah Rukh); I was singing for my work. But when I saw that they were acknowledging everyone-like a tea vendor who serves tea on set-but not acknowledging the singer, I felt, 'Why should I be your voice?'" he told ANI.
