Ram Charan and Janhvi Kapoor’s Peddi gets June release date, makers confirm

The makers of Peddi, starring Ram Charan, have confirmed that the film will release in theatres on June 4, 2026. The announcement places the project in a key post IPL window, often considered favourable for box office performance.

Directed by Buchi Babu Sana, the film features Janhvi Kapoor as the female lead, with Jagapathi Babu in an important role. The project is produced by Vriddhi Cinemas, with music composed by A. R. Rahman.

The film has remained in discussion since its announcement, with interest rising after early promotional material was released. A glimpse titled Peddi Pehelwan introduced Ram Charan in a different on screen look, which generated attention across platforms. With the release date now confirmed, the focus is expected to shift further towards marketing and distribution.

Promotions so far have included teasers, posters and music tracks that hint at the scale of the project. The first single, Chikiri Chikiri, has recorded strong numbers online, crossing 200 million views across platforms. The second track, Rai Rai Raa Raa, followed with a more energetic tone and has also received a positive response.

Along with the lead cast, the film also features Shiva Rajkumar and Divyendu Sharma in supporting roles. The film is produced by Venkata Satish Kilaru, in association with Mythri Movie Makers.

Recently, the film made headlines after reports emerged about Ram Charan sustaining an injury during shooting. Addressing the situation, a source close to the production told HT, “Ram Charan was shooting for an action episode yesterday and was injured. He had to get four sutures for it. He was injured above his eye, not his eye, like some seem to believe. His eye is fine. He is back to work as it’s a minor injury, and there’s nothing to worry about.”

With production progressing and promotions underway, Peddi is positioned as one of the notable theatrical releases scheduled for mid 2026.
