“This is one of the best romantic dramas of the year. You should definitely watch it . Love between lines.

The best part is you won’t feel bored at all. From episode 4, the story shifts from the game world to real life, which makes it more interesting and emotional. And the cinematography is really beautiful.

@PunnyPotato weren't you reading the novel? That's why I didn't spoil you, why she didn't choose her father's side of the family over her mother's!

Both Return of the Queen and My Lethal Man are quite decent for short drama standards!

I just finished How Dare You!?

I didn't

I was watching other novels

Also I don't mind spoilers smiley36

Based on the book, her parents were not on good terms from the beginning. Her mother was a perfectionist and her father was a procrastinator. They couldn't conceive, so they adopted a 2yo boy. Her mom loved the boy until Jiang Mu was born. Jin Zhao somehow took the second mother role for Jiang Mu and as she grew up Jiang Mu became so dependent on Jin Zhao. Even if she falls down scrapes her knee she'll come home and wait for Jin Zhao to come and then start crying like she just fell down. As days passed by Jiang Mu's mother didn't find the dependecy quite right so she asked her husband to send the boy away. Her father was against this. And one day her father broke the favorite potted plant and didn't apologize that led to the divorce.

Jiang Mu was told her brother went away with her father. She kept writing letters and he didn't respond. Her father didn't do well when they moved. They even got scammed and went homeless. That's when a woman helped them and Jiang Mu's father later married her.

Fast forward to Jiang Mu's present, she knew her mother stayed single at her prime even after the divorce and suddenly she went for a flash marriage that didn't sit quite right with her. Plus her mother who stopped Jiang Mu from contacting her father volutarily sent her to study at his place. Because one, without completing the basic education in China she can't take Jiang Mu outside. Second, she didn't want Jiang Mu to know about her operation.

So according to Jiang Mu her father and brother who promised to like her/remember her, deceived her. But the truth is they didn't want her to see when they both were struggling. Plus her mom and dad were in contact with eo but Jiang Mu didn't know.

(Basically, everyone around Jiang Mu didn't want her to know when they were down)

Later she learns her mom's flash marriage was to seek medical help (via spouse visa) in Australia. Also learns that Jin Zhao accidentally caused someone's death and paying for the case also works as a spy for the police. For the second time he cuts her off when he meets with an accident and ends up with a prosthetic leg and a weak constitution for a lifetime. Again somehow Jiang Mu finds him back and decides to stick together.

This story deals with parenting, differences in marriage, abandonment issues, shattered dreams, growing out of dependency and finding oneself, disaility and much more but these are blurred in the drama.
