Ah… well knowing Indian TV this could have been a lot worse. I mean we legit had 2 shows where kids were shown marrying adults. I remember 1 had Tejaswi Prakash marrying a 9/10 year old boy, the other had the girl who played Onupama’s adopted daughter as the bride marrying a guy in his 20s for sure. I don’t know the name of that actor.

Besides I think when it comes to this particular show they’re not promoting pedophilia but rather depicting the facts of how marriages work in Muslim communities.

I haven’t watched the show because I don’t find Parth much as an actor. Given the discussion about pedophilia I thought for a moment that the show has the girl paired with Vaquar. I know he’s in the show too as I saw him in the promo.

No, it’s because it’s being romanticised, glorified, glamorised, and justified.

Also, art is a medium that influences people easily, quickly and most importantly people are not even aware that they are being brainwashed when they willingly tune into a show with attractive leads, good music, direction and well written characters.

This subtly helps people in the media industry too because they can exploit young girls easily. And Bollywood has normalised this long before TV. Look at how superstars from yesteryears and even recently get paired with young girls old enough to be their daughters.

Yeah, the show got cancelled but came back with a season two with a leap where the boy who is now an 19/20 year old adult.

The channel people are not concerned about morality and conscience because they care about TRPs, if they don’t get it they will not show these things. But people tune in. They get TRPs and that’s all that matters.
