Yup. I'm not saying Noyna is the only one who should be held responsible but she cannot claim victim in all this. I hold both the parties responsible when it comes to cheating. It's not like she was kept in the dark about his marital status, right?

See I am not saying Noina isn't responsible. She's getting due bashing from everyone be it Gayatri, Tulsi, Angad and even her sister is now giving taanas regarding Mihir. Even Pari who acted as a catalyst in their cheating, who pushed Noina aunty despite knowing her feelings towards Mihir to her father, knows she was wrong at least by herself. But no one confronts Mihir. He's given free pass; no one holds him responsible for the cheating when he should have borne the 50% of the brunt. No one gives him taana for crossing the boundaries as a married man, Shobha wants her parents together, Gayatri was like bechara Mihir that day.

And I am not even talking about cheating episode, people are only picking that. His behavior with Tulsi from 3rd episode was shìt to the point it worsened so much that he thought a woman like Tulsi would be happy with his properties and money and if he compensated with money, she would be happy. He pushed Tulsi away literally after Pari's court and none of his children, be it Angad, Ritik, Shobha confronted him on this. He stopped talking with Tulsi because she just wanted to check the background of Ranvijay before agreeing to Pari's match. He even argued regarding Baa ki Haveli, only when he read Parvati ka letter he was okay. He was angry with her because she went to Vrinda’s house and even when she said that Vrinda was molested by her fiancé, he showed a classist attitude. And I can go on how he behaved with Angad and Vrinda that day... no one confronted him on his behavior. Cheating would be neutralised by showing Noina assaulting him or it was fake as he passed out. They'll make him innocent and again will establish Mihir as Ram (which is 😬) but no one would call out his past behaviour towards Tulsi or his shitty parenting towards his children.

I can't fathom how Mihir always gets a free pass from everyone.

The only person who truly showed him the mirror was Karan and with him Nandini. But even they are missing in action now.

Ah… well knowing Indian TV this could have been a lot worse. I mean we legit had 2 shows where kids were shown marrying adults. I remember 1 had Tejaswi Prakash marrying a 9/10 year old boy, the other had the girl who played Onupama’s adopted daughter as the bride marrying a guy in his 20s for sure. I don’t know the name of that actor.

Besides I think when it comes to this particular show they’re not promoting pedophilia but rather depicting the facts of how marriages work in Muslim communities.

I haven’t watched the show because I don’t find Parth much as an actor. Given the discussion about pedophilia I thought for a moment that the show has the girl paired with Vaquar. I know he’s in the show too as I saw him in the promo.

Pehredaar Piya Ka was an horrible show. There was one more in recent times. It even has claims of the male lead treating the female lead badly.

I guess the show's name is Balam Thanedaar something. I am not able to recollect the name offhand.

I think when it comes to Dev she cares just not in a good way. She cares to ruin him as much as possible as an individual and render him useless so as to be able to hurt Hemant who has been Tulsi’s staunchest supporter.

Noina ignores that Dev’s great grandma got her foot into SN but she doesn’t ignore Hemant refusing to accept her and being an unwavering supporter of Tulsi’s. Not even Kiran, who has magically disappeared again from SN post leap is so against Mihir Tulsi getting a divorce if that’s what they want. He also is fine if Mihir moves on with Noina so quickly post the formalities of divorce.

But Hemant being a cousin is against this and since he speaks of sanskaars, maryada, etc the most somehow despite being Gayatri’s son… she wants to hurt him where it hurts the most. Dev being his grandson and going wayward shows Saahil somehow failed as a father to instil good values and morals in his son… Hemant is bound to get affected by this as a ripple affect of failing to protect his own grandson from such influences and also not being there to teach him what he could and should’ve as a grandfather too. The fact that Dev can ruin an innocent girl’s life now for no fault of hers for his greed is not something that can be entirely ignored. I think that’s why this whole Baapji angle was necessary too. They could have made this lender anyone but they chose to make a family friend be this person. Now he’s entrusted the Viranis with a daughter of his family trusting their upbringing as he knew their matriarch and patriarch as a good friend. But down the line the family has moved away from the values that made his friends the respectable, honest and admirable people they were.

A random girl’s family might not have been able to taunt the Viranis the way that an old family friend of their grandparents can.
