In my childhood every time I would get a cable and try to watch Kyunki to see what happened to Karan Nandini and if they got together, but every time I would see karan Tanya or Nandini in coma or just not even in the episodes

I was expecting Karan Nandini to finally get some happiness in their married life after everything, but they went to Karan Tanya right after the Ansh rape track. If they wanted to show Tanya for drama between Karan Nandini, they could’ve shown her after giving him some moments to married Karan Nandini and at least not show a child between Karan Tanya or show Karan be with Tanya for decades in a marriage which isn’t even a valid marriage as his wife was alive??

Family asks him to marry her because Nandini slipped into a coma while delivering Bhoomi and stayed in coma for over two years at that point. Tanya had moved into SN because she was the only one Bhoomi would be comfortable with.

Everyone thought Nandini might never wake up and Karan shouldn’t have to keep on waiting for her forever. He accepted the responsibility for her daughter but was neglecting her too and there was no way to keep Tanya at SN forever as well without any relation. How long could she keep her life on hold as well without any connection to them. Everyone knew at that point she was in love with Karan and so iirc Baa and Savita decided that getting them married would help Karan move on and save him from losing his mind to depression. Bhoomi could also have 2 parents to love her, they talk about it to Tulsi and she agrees to talk to Karan.

In fact she comes out of jail and sees Karan Tanya while married still behave as if they’re strangers and she tells Karan that he’s being unfair to Tanya. He knows she’s in love with him and she’s looking after him and the child he vowed to father with all her heart but she still doesn’t get the love of the one person for whom she’s doing everything - her husband. Karan acknowledges that Tanya loves him but says he’s never going to be able to move on from Nandini. Tulsi tells him then he should have not married Tanya at all because she doesn’t deserve to live a life in which she’s his wife only for appearances sake and he’s using her as nothing more than a glorified nanny.

Karan says he never wanted to marry Tanya but the family insisted. Tulsi says we did because we all care for you, we saw you were wasting away waiting for Nandini to wake up and thought we might lose you too.

She then tells him before she asked him to keep his word to Nandini and be a father to Bhoomi as he had said he would. Yet he was ignoring her for so long and the only parental love she got was from Tanya. Now that he’s rectified that mistake and started being a father to Bhoomi, he’s repeating the same mistake - of ignoring someone whose responsibility he took on - only this time as a husband rather than a father.

That prompts Karan to eventually move on with Tanya, and obviously Nandini wakes up the day Tanya is to inform Karan they’re expecting a child. She meant to surprise him with the news as a gift on their anniversary. Ends up being surprised as Karan rushes to the hospital and finds out months later he’s gonna be a dad twice over, by two different women in the court where he had accepted the crime of killing Gujral only for Nandini to come forward and confess she’s the killer.

When Karan is angry at her she tells him she couldn’t live with herself as it is thinking he would serve life imprisonment or get hanged for her crime; Bhoomi wouldn’t stop crying for him and constantly begged for her father. It killed her already to see her daughter in such a state, the knowledge that she would deprive 2 unborn children of their father as well if she kept quiet - one in her womb and another in Tanya’s ensured she comes forward. Because if the guilt of being the cause of the death of the man she loves, her husband was already too much for her to handle, but the guilt of depriving 3 innocent children of their father would surely kill her.

They spent more time apart than together for sure.
