So I have finally seen the film and I don’t think I want to write a big review but here are few points that stood out.
These points will contain some SPOILERS.
1. Everything about the film was brilliant, script, cinematography, acting, and the music, oh the music. It didn’t feel like 3.5 hours film even for a minute.
2. I haven’t seen anything controversial worthy about the film, nothing about what was showed made me uncomfortable (other than the Allahu Akbar) god is the greatest shouldn’t be screamed when you’re spilling innocent blood and I don’t know what goes through the minds of these kinda people but according to the religion I practice they won’t be seeing jannah. I found one line a little too much but I don’t want to turn this thread into something else so I won’t go into detail.
3. The real life footage used was absolutely heartbreaking 💔 I can’t imagine living through that.
4. You all lied to me about Rehman because I thought since he’s the main villain he is the one behind the attacks and but it seemed like Major Iqbal was the bigger threat to India than Rehman, this guy was mostly worried about how to be the biggest gangster. Yes, he is supplying the weapons used but Iqbal was way more excited about the actual attacks and he’s the one who got Rehman into the deal. He seemed lto directly more connected. I don’t know if I have missed anything and I need to rewatch the film.
5. Akshay was menacing though he scared me few times without opening his mouth.
6. I don’t think Arjun Rampal is getting enough credit for his acting in this film. I was very impressed by him.
7. All the songs were beautiful but Karvaan was different experience on the big screen and probably the song I will listen the most from the album.
8. The repeat value is INSANE.
9. I didn’t pick on the right vs left part I have been seen in social media but maybe I don’t know the Indian politics much to pick up on those idk.
10. This is a very very very intense film. There was hardly any breathing between scenes.
The one thing I didn’t like was the violence and gore. I couldn’t look at most of the scenes and some of them made me nauseous.
Do I need to say about my man Veera?? Anyone who says he was overshadowed or this is not his film either didn’t understand the film itself or is just a plain haters with zero shame.
5/5 for me.
I couldn’t be happier for everyone involved in the film because it deserves all the love it’s getting but I’m the most happy for Ranveer. Extremely talented guy who so many people are very eager to pull down and hate on for absolutely no reason. So much PR against him and that’s why this feels personal. May he always shine despite the efforts of his haters.
