Akshaye Khanna totally overshadowed Ranveer on Dhurandhar! - Page 9

this is factually wrong tbh. khanna was amazing no doubt but so was rs. he is a spy who has to be in the bg and gain rahman dakait’s trust, not steal his limelight. this is a basic thing which people are failing to understand idk why. did they want him to scream and shout and kill everyone in every frame? did they want him to break into a well choreographed dance with rahman dakait?

Movie opened average but grew tremendously on WOM, and the most talked about cast member is Akshaye, so naturally he's being credited for it.

Akshaye's viral dance steps are already out on SM, everywhere, even his scenes with his wife is going viral, now for what other reason audience is flocking the theatres as they have seen all of Akshaye on SM already?

Ranveer Singh wasn't promoted as face of the film, he was kept in loop at 5th position by makers. Take for Teaser & Trailer, he didn't even get more screen space in promotional videoes, na hi koi dialouge.

If you have seen the film, Ranveer has more screen space, more exposure than all 4 other main protagnist. This is his mission, his story. After him, it is Akshaye Khanna's role along with Arjun, Rakesh & Sanjay Dutt.

But clearly putting low opening on Ranveer & later on WOM/Akshaye factor for film performing well afterwards is biased 1 sided viewpoint.

If Akshaye Khanna is so good that this much rush is for him, I Dare ask any filmmaker to make new film with him Solo hero, film agar 10 cr bhi kar gayi toh bata dena.

Dhurandhar Belongs to Aditya Dhar & Ranveer Singh COMBO, no one else, viral toh aajkal koi bhi cheez ho jaati hai, to attract consistent Rush, you need perfection in Art which ppl saw in Hamza Character played by Ranveer.

Also, to add, post SSR Death, new way of trolls to bash bollywood is to hype non-star of film to make main hero weak. We have seen how Jamal kudu took Internet viral scene over Ranbir's acting in Animal. This isn't new, won't be the last, whichever film has lesser/underrated hero doing some negative role, ppl will boost him to sky to demean Main Hero who is more popular, had more pull.

This particular thread was opened with an agenda by that psycho member, so I won't give any bhaav to it. I was only talking about Akshaye deserving major credit for the performance and the organic WOM the movie is enjoying. To say this is just "Ranveer+Dhar" show is an obvious one-sided view again. But it's your opinion, and to each their own.

Here is a big example, this person doesnt usually watch Ranveer's films, but he watched dhurandhar and loved it! He says its without a doubt a ranveer Singh film and highly praised him!

an super star cum actor is dilip kumar, ranveer singh, amitabh bachhan, meena kumar, sharmila tagore, sri devi, nargis etc (who are very good actors and can attract audience to buy tickets too)

a star cum actor is rishi kapoor, raj kumar, sunil dutt, sunil shetty, akshay khanna, bobby deol, shashi kapoor etc

Ranveer failed as a star when the film failed to open well. the film should have open between 40 - 50 cr ended up with 26 with more than 30% coming from spot booking.

The film worked course of great word of mouth were Khanna was the biggest the highlight.

Hero jo hota hai film ka, uska alag ek importance hoti hai, which shows in posters as well. Off late, posters have come as Solo hero featuring one, like Pathaan, Jawan, Animal, Sikandar. Dhurandhar all posters have 5 characters, everywhere. Even in Teaser/Trailer video, Ranveer didn't have much dialouges or they didn't started with his scenes.

Few examples deta hoon for a Villain making impact bigger than.

1. Satya - Bhikhu Matre. A Cult Legendary character who had tons of dialouges, which are till date very famous. No one remembers Chakraborty as hero of Satya, for ppl Satya is Bhikhu Matre film.

2. Sholay - Gabbar Singh. Kitne Aadmi the is more popular than any Dharam ji or Amit ji dialouge from film.

3.Mr.India - Mocambo - Mocambo Khush hua.

4. Darr - K k k kiran.

Hype which is surrounding Akshaye Khanna right now is exactly like the praise/appreciation came for above characters when those films were released. Jabki in realty, Akshaye Khanna didn't have any famous dialouge from film, na hi koi pet habit jo famous ho rahi ho. His simple dance step & walk is getting praised & to crown him with Dhurandhar's success is utter foolishness as this much viral sensation aajkal koi kabhi bhi ho jata hai.

Let's see if this rush is for Part 2 as well coz usmein Akshaye Khanna nahi hai, it will be Ranveer show.

Khanna saab ka kaunsa Dialouge or scene WOM mein aa gaya? All his scenes are on insta/twitter only for ppl to enjoy. Aisa kaunsa WOM Akshaye ki wajah se aa gaya?

I understand you having hard time, despite having blockbuster.

What I really fear is Arjun Rampal may ending up eating him alive again in part 2
