While the drama is well-done, part of me struggles to keep watching. I am not at all comfortable with the romanticized scenes between Mahid and Sehar. It feels like a sword about to drop and I really wish the channel will clarify where they are going. Otherwise, they are going to get complaints from the public and NGOs.

I really don't want Sehar acting as a therapist to heal him as a romantic angle -- she is in 10th. She is 16. She shouldn't be worrying about how to take care of an emotionally damaged adult. That is unfair and nothing romantic about it in my view. It just make is very tragic. Like Kauser said, who can she save when she can't save herself.

Instead, let us having any healing shown as executed by a profession -- Dr. Fareed. That would be educational as well as show how mental trauma needs some intervention and it cannot be randomly done by anyone. It is unfair that a spouse and marriage should be somehow healing broken hearts like they signed up to be a therapist. It is the reason so many people are in unhappy marriages/relationships and I really don't want to see a drama pushing that kind of narrative. 🤨

Any romance between Mahid and Sehar should be shown as an adult relationship where the two are on equal emotional footing and maturity level.

Parvez and depictions of DV are painful to watch. Well acted but you really want to slap him.

The plus of the drama is really Kauser for me. Acting is on point but at the same time, there is a kind of lively courageous spirit. Her interactions with Fareed so far are wanting me to check back in.

the childhood scene was edited in a average way, the way his mother committed suicide lolsmiley36but still that doesn't give full justification as to why mahid developed the regressive thoughts from, most likely maybe this grooming came after his mother's demise, probably??

coming to mahid, his character arc feels monotonous..no development..

We will probably get details in little doses. It was clear that the mom wanted to escape this cage and hence her "I want to fly". Since this happened at a young age, Mahid has not processed why his mom was so unhappy. The penny hasn't dropped that the oppressive rules and the environment is what drove his mother to suicide.

At the same time, he is also attached to his grandfather and the old man definitely had a role to play because he thinks he knows best and rules over all. So his words and attitude created the oppression. So to face the past, he would have to confront the people currently in his life. He says he is not a coward and it is just respect but he cannot even tell his grandfather that he does not want to get married. So he has no spine at the moment. 🤨

When he says the woman was wrong to apply for the job, there’s a noticeable hesitation..It kinda feels like years of conditioning by the patriarchs in his family have brainwashed him to the point where he doesn’t even recognize his own feelings..

I think Seher will initially help him heal from his childhood trauma and that will slowly open his heart..Through her, he’ll begin to understand how wrong it was to deny women their basic rights.. It’s going to be exciting to watch him support Seher’s dreams, standing up to his family and going against all odds..Its going to be one heck of a journey..only if the makers play their cards right.😭🤞

There were two different issues but Mahid actually answers only one part of the question. So the grandfather mentioned two things -- 1. this lady had applied at a bank which takes interest and 2. she had applied for a job to be financially independent.

From my understanding, Islamic banking and finance exists so that this interest problem is dealt in a way that makes people comfortable. People who feel strongly about this do still invest through such modes.

Mahid's response was actually about working in a secular bank (which does interest) and not about whether it is okay for women to work. However, people interpreted his response as women should not work at all. So there is a bit of nuance because he actually does not answer that question at all. In that sense, his thoughts on that matter are hidden from us.

Me too! I mean the more I want to ship them the more uncomfortable I feel- and the minus point is that the actors look so good together, that you just can't help but like the chemistry. But I seriously cannot entertain the idea of them moving towards the romantic side of the story- it's itv afterall, they are bound to have some 'falling-catching' scenes or then randomly getting close, as in forced proximity- but my head cannot just process how they are going to justify that with her being just 16!

Everyone deserves to be loved by the healed version of their spouse, definitely agree on this- she is not there to be his therapist or his punching bag. I mean I understand his trauma and all but randomly shouting ather because of kebabs and red colour is just not done! (Kal ko bolega aap saans leti hain? meri ammi bhi leti thi😭🙏)

That Kausar scene was so heavy on emotions, I feel it deserves a whole appreciation post- the way she talked to the pigeon, her vague but precise responses to Dr. Fareed- Mahi nailed it!

As far as I understood, the therapy will be done by Dr. Fareed only, as was done in the og. Since they have clearly given credits to the original show, and infact have shot certain scenes almost exactly the same way as the og, I am pretty sure that they won't make such a big change to the story.

Let's see what happens. I feel the grandfather can sense his nephew's brain washing capability thus making Mahid the good candidate but would like to see more details. That uncle's character pov is expected but definitely, the grandfather seems like there's some involvement.

I dont think they are going to show any romance between the leads atleast until she is an adult. From what I heard, even in the og, their bond has been largely platonic. Personally I enjoy stories which focus on the emotional bond between the leads rather than cliche romantic scenes. So I hope the makers focus on that.

On a completely different note, Rishita and Parth look really good together and complement each other really well.

By the time, the father showed up in the original dizi, I had stopped watching and so I was not aware the character even existed. From what I remember seeing, the lack of parents were simply not mentioned and it was like this huge secret. No one wants to talk about why Mahid has no parents. The grandfather was also not actively present (at least in the initial season) but it was the uncle and his family only. I never got around to watching the reveal of why or how the mother died.

Regarding Kausar and Dr Fareed- I hope they dont show any EMA cos then it will be really difficult to root for them. In og, Dr Fareed's wife left him but that's not the case here. I hope the makers handle it sensitively.
