Part 2:The Meeting
"Hello Abhira Beta, Pehchana? Tere Kairav mama and Muskan Mami Udaipur aagaye hai"
Abhira is stunned and says"Oh my god yeh toh maha breaking news hai.Yeh bohot hi nice hua ki aap aur Mami udaipur aagaye.Mein abhi milne aati hu Armaan aur meri Bandar mairu ke saath"
Kairav laughs and tells Abhira that he was going to invite the trio and tells them to come today along with armaan and maira tomorrow at 8pm for dinner at goenka villa
Abhira excitedly bids bye to her kairav and cuts the phone. She excitedly tells armaan that her mama and Mami are in udaipur and have returned from USA.Armaan is happy while aching from the backache he got from facing the chappal of the crowd at the market and abhira tells him to file a police case against that girl.Armaan says that I will do that but let's focus on meeting your mama and Mami
Meanwhile in Goenka Villa,Muskan commands over Interior Deisgners and selects the Fabric of curtains for the living room-the last room that is going to be renovated. In two weeks since their arrival from United States,Muskan changed the entire face of Goenka Villa as she didn't like the old aesthetics of it.
Meanwhile,Kaira walked slowly down the hushed hallway, her footsteps echoing softly on the polished floor. She paused, drawn to the doorway of a room that held a specific, almost sacred silence Akshara Bua's room kept perfectly preserved at Kairav's heartfelt request.
Her eyes were immediately drawn to the imposing Legacy Wall, a visual chronicle of the Goenka family's key matriarchs and their succeeding generations. It wasn't just decoration; it was history solidified in frames.
She approached the wall, her gaze moving slowly across the familiar faces, ticking off the names in her mind:
"There's Akshara Dadi... and Naira Dida..."
"And Akshu Bua... and the newer faces, Abhira and Maira..."
The realization dawned on her, stark and immediate. The wall was a complete story, but she was nowhere in the narrative.
"But where am I?" The thought wasn't a question of childish pique, but a quiet, heavy acknowledgement.
Kaira was the daughter of Kairav, a son who had lived through and honored this very legacy. Yet, here, facing the documentation of her family's most important members, she saw a clear, unbroken line of succession that somehow jumped right over her.
The feeling of exclusion, sharp as it was, lasted only a brief moment. Kaira wasn't one to dwell on silent slights or historical oversight.
She took a deep breath, her shoulders straightening. No, she wouldn't let a collection of frames overshadow the reality of her place in this family. Her value wasn't defined by a wall, but by her life and her work.
She gave the wall one last, assessing glance a quiet acknowledgement of the history then decisively brushed the thought away like dust from a sleeve.
A confident, almost defiant, light returned to her eyes. Dr. Kaira Goenka was a force in the present, carving her own path, and she wouldn't linger on old narratives.
"Ha Ma, I am landing tomorrow, don't worry. I will catch the connecting flight to Udaipur from Mumbai. Chalo, Bye."
Aaryan assured Manisha, ending the call. He glanced at his boarding pass, settling into the plush lounge chair to wait for his flight to board.
His phone buzzed. A message from Kaira flashed on the screen:
Don't forget to call me when you board ❤️
Aaryan's face brightened immediately. Her little heart emoji always brought a smile to his lips.
Aaryan: Don't worry. Do you need anything from duty free?
He sent the message, half-expecting a simple, "No, just you." But Kaira, Dr. Kaira Goenka, was anything but simple when a good opportunity arose.
Aaryan was still smiling when his phone started buzzing with rapid-fire notifications. It wasn't one message; it was a deluge.
Kaira: Need anything? Aaryan, my love, you shouldn't have asked! 😂
Kaira: Okay, let's start with essentials.
Kaira: 1. That limited edition Chanel N°5 perfume set,the one in the black velvet box. (It smells like success and you.)
Kaira: 2. A large Toblerone. (No, wait, make that three large Toblerones. One for me, one for Maira, and one just in case for me if I feel sad.)
Kaira: 3. That ridiculous, overpriced La Mer moisturizer they only sell in airport lounges. My skin deserves luxury!
Kaira: 4. Wait, forget all that. Just get me that beautiful, tiny blue box from Tiffany's—you know the one, the one that holds the tiny, sparkly promise. Kidding! (Mostly.)
Kaira: But seriously, three pairs of those fancy Italian espresso cups the gold rimmed ones. We need them for our dream apartment. Consider it an investment in our future caffeine addiction. 😉
Kaira: And finally, just you. Safe and sound. I miss you. Can't wait for your flight to land. Hurry up! ❤️
Aaryan read the list, shaking his head slowly, his smile widening into a warm, indulgent grin. She was impossible, and he adored it.
Aaryan: You are buying half of Duty Free, Doctor . Consider the espresso cups and all other tid bits secured . As for the rest... I'll bring the best thing I bought: me, all for you. See you soon. Flying now.
Aaryan hit 'send' on his final message to Kaira, a warmth settling in his chest from her playful list of demands. He tucked his phone away, feeling that familiar blend of anticipation for the trip and excitement to finally be back in India with her.
Aaryan navigated Duty-Free, securing the gold-rimmed espresso cups and three massive Toblerones one for Kaira's 'sadness cure.' He indulged her with the specific Chanel perfume set and the notoriously expensive La Mer moisturizer. Aaryan smiled, holding a bag full of gifts and a heart full of anticipation, ready to finally head home to Kaira.
Just then, a voice cut through the bustling duty free and the low hum of conversation:
"Final call for passengers travelling to Mumbai, on flight AI 235 The boarding gates are now open."
Aaryan juggling the duty free bags, retrieved his carry-on. The wait was over. He adjusted his jacket, a focused look replacing his earlier amused expression. The Poddar House, the family dynamics, and, most importantly, Kaira, were just hours away.
He headed swiftly toward the gate. The journey had officially begun.
